Worth $75.00

I already got NOte III but is it worth $75.00 i paid for since i sold my old iphone for $225.00 the reason i am asking is because ppl are saying the signal quality is very bad and if that is the case then i need to think about it. How bad is it. so far i dont have any issues. Also the issue of havin to use the mobile data if no wifi is aviable is also concerning since with iphone that i had even with wifi and 3g turned off there used to E and it would still load the app and page and with note III it wont do if both of them are off. so i will also need to up my 200MB data plan to current modern day one lol.

I'm not seeing the issue with the mobile data if no wi-fi is present?!? That's how they all work. If you have a smartphone, you certainly shouldn't be on such a small data plan. These things are designed to suck data. That's their purpose.

As for signal, that's a harder part. The number of bars can be tricky as different manufacturers program their phones differently. One phone can show one bar and still be stellar and a different phone from the same manufacturer or a different manufacturer can have all the bars but still suck. Now, when it drops from something like LTE to Edge, that's a different story.

When I am at my parents' place, their house is a bit of weird place for reception for me with any phone. There's one spot that can be temperamental. The Note 3 is a tad more so than my Note 2 but still better than previous phones like my Nexus One and GNex.

I suspect you're paying more than $75 for this phone. I'm on Tmo and I certainly know it. Do I think it is worth it? Yes. It's probably one of the best smartphones out there right now. To make the best use of it though, I would look into a better data plan because that's what these things are about. They should be hooked up the network and pulling data. If I am only going to be on wifi all the time, well that's what my tablet and laptop are for.

Just realized my last reply I quoted the wrong person.

With every phone I've had, if there was no wifi present, mobile data would kick in.
If I were using an app that required data and I had wifi and mobile data turned off, the app would not work.

I came from an iPhone 4 and I can say my Note 3 was the best purchase I've ever made in terms of a mobile device. I actually turned on my old iPhone to check a note, the screen now looks comically small and the bezels ridiculously large, I don't know how I used that thing for so long.

Recently had an issue with my bionic in my house, sitting in my recliner, if I changed hands, or went to the bedroom my data would drop. Called Verizon several times, their final answer was "well there's leaves on the trees now". Really, leaves? Oh okay then. Well with the note, no issues at all. And by the way there's still leaves on the trees...

"Leaves on the trees"? Well now, that one just about takes the cake!

Yeah, those non-ferrous organic leaves are certainly famous for knocking out electromagnetic signals. I guess that's why I can't get phone service deep in the forest, and lack of any towers has nothing to do with it :p

Yup, I couldn't believe it myself Chief. I had been having some connectivity issues that started about mid spring. So I had been calling tech support for weeks. They claim to have sent someone out to my area to test signal levels, blah blah, blah, and the experts determined that it was leaves.

My wife's plan is 200MB for the last 4 years, only went over around 3 times. Previous phones were Apple. She has been educated to use WiFi :p

I smell a troll.
