Worth Rooting yet, or wait?

Is this phone worth rooting yet? The last time I rooted an Android phone when it first came out, it ended up performing worse than stock. Is this going to be the same case?

I dunno about performance, but I'm personally waiting until after Froyo to root. Hopefully it'll still be possible at that time.

I am waiting until after FroYo. Other than getting rid of th bloatware and side loading there is not much else to do right now. If in the unlikely chance I need to take the phone back in the next thirty days I don't have to mess with putting in back to orginal. Just my 2cents.
