Would be nice if.......

The captive had the feature like the Nexus S had where you can talk to your phone to command it to do just about anything. Think the feature was called voice action

yeah itd be awesome if this last generation phone could do the cool new feature that this new generation phone could do... huh?

I am still waiting for Bluetooth voice dialing like my Windows Mobile 6.1 Samsung had that I got for my work phone back in 2008. In my car I would press one button on my stereo and my phone would chime letting me know it was ready. I would then say "Call John Doe" and it would reply "Call John Doe, work, home, or mobile?" I would then say "Work" and it would dial John Doe's work number. You could also say "Dial 867-5309" and it would dial the number for you. For me there was no voice training, it just worked out of the box.

Man! I want that on my Android!

There's Vlingo:

It works with 2.1 Eclair but is designed to work best with Froyo. Something to think about.

Well, this is a feature of Froyo, so when the Captivate gets Froyo, you'll have this feature....keywords being "when the Captivate gets Froyo"...lol.

Go to the AT&T section of the market and download 'Vlingo Assistant' it does just this.

EDIT: Guess I should have read all the posts. It works fine on Eclair FYI.
