Help Would it work if i bought one in england for use in ireland ??

I was thinking about buying either the Nexus 4(if that's what it's called) or the Galaxy Nexus if it's still on sale.
The problem is I live in Ireland and there's no Play Store to buy devices from.



I was wondering if I bought the device from the UK Play Store would I encounter any problems of functionality when I bring it back to Ireland such as:

• Problems buying paid apps.
• Problems receiving system updates.

(I know someone living in the uk so they could get it for me)

Yes it will work. They only make one version of it.

Yes it will work fine.

Irony being I live in Northern Ireland, and when I ordered my Nexus 7 of Google at release it turns out it gets shipped from Dublin. Google Dublin is the EU HQ. Funny that the Play store doesn't work down there.

My UK O2 phone has always worked perfectly in Ireland.

HALT according to Country availability - Google Play Help "the country of your credit card must match the the country to which you're shipping." and I assume it will only let you ship to the UK anyway* so I doubt you'll be able to buy it yourself, you might be able to get your friend in England to buy it for you and pay them back though.

*EDIT: "can be shipped to anywhere in the United Kingdom"

Will I have any problem receiving system updates?
Has anyone been abroad and received an update for their phone or will the phone not let you because it's in a different country??
