Would you pay $200 for....

a week old, certified, like-new replacement Inc?

Looking to upgrade the g/f from an Eris, but she's not upgrade eligible through Verizon until next Jan.

Found someone locally selling their certified, like-new replacement Inc for $200.

Condition looks to be approx. 9-9.9 out of 10. They say they have had no issues w/ the phone, but had a plethora of issues w/ their original Inc.

Thoughts?

I have had the amoLED Inc since June 1st and love it, but have no experience w/ the SLCD Inc's or these like-new replacements.

If she's already on a family plan, have her check in to buying a new one from Verizon for $99 (with new 2 year contract of course). Because she's not eligible for an upgrade, she would also have to add a line to her account to put the new phone on. However Verizon has a Smart Phone Talk free promo so that the usual $9.99 per month is waived. Surely she or someone she knows has an old non-smart phone laying around, put that one on her current line and have the data plan removed. The net result is a new DInc with no increase in the monthly bill.
Lastly Verizon is buying back Erii for $132, if she does that she's a little bit ahead.
All of that is what I did last weekend so that I could get a new phone. There are a few steps to go through, but it works out better than just $200 out of pocket.

$200 that's a good price, and not too mention, even though she buys it off someone, she can prolly still get a refurb with the one year mnfg warranty, or at least I bought an Eris off craigslist and got 3 refurbs...
