Would you recommend the LG G3?

I recommend this phone easily. After owning it for 2 days it is great.
however one minor gripe I have with mine.

Turn mine to the left and the view is perfect, turn it to the right and anything yellow looks purple...

my wife's turn to the left is perfect, turn it to the right it is also perfect.

that is my only gripe with mine currently.

I haven't managed to track down a spare battery supplier yet, so am wondering where you got yours?

Thanks,

Someone was driving down the road and at a stop light a phone flew off their beamer. I stopped and it was a busted up Verizon Note 3. I took the Battery and S Pan and left the rest on the ground.

The LG G3 and the HTC One have been getting pretty good reviews, but I personally am most likely to go with Galaxy S5 at a good price.. My friend used a S4 and she really loved it, want recommend Samsung phones to anyone

The S5 to me is not an option due to only 16GB storage and also not a fan of the size increase for a 5.1" display. All them darn sensors they added resulted in a size increase. The sensors also result in more battery drain (I turn the bling off on all devices).

Looking forward to the 805 devices this September. I would expect to see a few devices just before the iPhone onslaught.

You really think there will be some 805 devices September (in the UK as well?). Am still wondering whether I hold off for a little longer, or just get the G3 now?

The general rule of thumb is if you wait for one device you will see another that catches your eye when that one is released and it will be a continuing cycle. You generally have to go with what you want right then and there but then again that can cause you to misjudge and you will wish you held out.

I love this G3 more so than my moto x.

I'm heading from the S3, so for me the G3 will be a massive update. End of August, here we come :-)

Yes. Note 4 and another 5"device from Samsung. LG could also release the 805 version of the G3.

Not seeing Samsung and LG not counter and the industry expects it a battle. The G3 seems priced too low for the 3/32 to not be positioned to have a quicker higher specced sibling.

But as early as September?

Based on your VZW 16/2 prediction..... :D

:)

Samsung has the Note 4 in September and industry analysts expect a prime level 5" counter at least by Samsung before/around Apple releases their iPhones.

G3 seems priced too low for a true flagship device thingy. The pricing is a nice compromise for customers and then jack it up for the premium line this fall.

September for the Note 4, but seems too tight for anything else. October is more likely. No way Google/Apple competitors "allows" Apple to have free reign this fall/winter.

I have a replacement G2 coming Monday. Can you persuade to get the G3 over sticking with the G2?

Best phone I have ever owned. I have tried them all. S5, HTC, Motorola, and iphone. This is by far the best. Great screen, voice, signal, camera, and software. Love the replaceable battery and sd slot. The knock feature and buttons in the back are genius. Highly recommend!

easily.

just replaceable battery and sd slot corner G2.

that's why I sold my G2.

add 5.5 screen in the almost the same size body and superior camera/camcorder and your question should be answered :)

I'm coming from the iPhone 5S and I had some concerns coming into this phone. I read a lot about how users were experiencing lag, over heating, speaker, battery issues, etc. None of these are really present in my G3. Now I'm not saying this phone is perfect because LG can definitely clean up some issues but by far the best phone I have owned.

You will experience some lag, stuttering but it really does not bother me. About 90% of the time this thing is running smooth. I'm still using LG's stock launcher but I've heard Nova launcher resolves the lag/stuttering issue. LG just needs to optimize their launcher.

My phone has over heated once and that was the first day when I was playing with it for about 3-4 hours straight while plugged in for charging. It got warm but nothing more and cooled down very fast once I was done playing with it. Other than that, this phone stays pretty cool but I'm a light/medium user and my brightness is around 60%.

No speaker or battery issues here either. In fact, I think the battery is spectacular on this thing. I unplug it around 7AM and by the time I go to bed at 11PM I usually have anywhere from 30-40% left, depending on my usage during the day. I have no problem getting through the day with this thing. With my iPhone, I wouldn't even use the thing that much and by noon it would be at 50%.

Buy this phone! You won't regret it!

My last two phones have been the Nexus 4 and the Galaxy Nexus. I am now about to get a AT&T branded LG G3. What kind of interface changes can I expect? Will I be disappointed coming from the "True Google Experience" to the AT&T added bloatware?

Nope....I think this is the best phone of 2014... You will not be disappointed!

I've had my LG G3 since the 16th and I love it, came from a S4 that had for a year. My s4 was extremely laggy playing games drove me crazy it was rooted also several fixes i tried to do also but nothing helped. So after a year I ditched it and got my G3 which is my first LG phone. But I love this G3, a co-worker of mine had it for a month so I spoke to him about the likes and dislikes also held the phone used it and made my decision.

Bigger screen slightly taller then the S4 but all around good phone, I rooted it did some customizing and really dont notice any lag. Took 2 days to get use to the buttons in back but now I love them there. For protection from dropping I have a wallet case that Im getting use too but i also have a spigen slim amour really no screen protection with that case. The wallet case is just a leather wallet looking case that snaps close protects the screen well.

Went with the G3 because of both a removable battery and sd card option. No regrets at all.

What's all this about 'inferior battery?'

My Note 3, with Google Services all disabled, (as in no Play Store, screen dim all the way, no sync, only using email built into the phone, GPS off, power saver off, sounds off, Air View off, Bluetooth and WiFi on, Data on, Network on) just sitting in my pocket during a typical 12 hour work day (paired only to my G-Watch which is my only method of interfacing with the phone's notifications at work) would come home with anywhere from 49% to 59% of battery.

Just the same day, but with no wifi, using the horridly slow 3G/1X with one bar, all apps open and running (minimized with the home key), Bluetooth, GPS, ALL Google Sync on, data on, screen on auto, sound as loud as it gets (and i must tell you this thing has a LOUD speaker!) and changing literally nothing (phone is brand new, i've done nothing to it other than add my Google account and a handful of apps) and it came home with 79%. WTF!!! what inferior battery? and the LG G3 even with auto-update on has never once gotten hot. never lagged, has the most snappy UI i've ever seen on an Android phone, and has not once rebooted itself or frozen.

My Note 3 is dying anyway. it shorted out once during a 100 degree work day due to sweat and shocked my leg, and drained its battery all at once in the process. ever since it's been quite unstable, many apps randomly crash, it froze once at the lockscreen refusing any touch input, and always had the typical TouchWiz micro-stutter from time to time. the battery got me through the day, but with most stuff turned off, but the LG G3 can get two days of this type of use no problem.

The Note 4 was a possible option but after playing with the demo the thing isn't that different from the Note 3. the screen didn't get the 6" size i hoped for, the S-Pen is the same, same features, nothing, literally nothing new added to TouchWiz, and worse yet, it looks more like an iPhone than a Samsung phone, complete with the metal surround that will likely have the same infamous signal drop (antennagate) that plagued the iPhone 4 and 4S, and still plagues the iPhone 5 (you're holding it wrong)

Nope....I think this is the best phone of 2014... You will not be disappointed!

I got the phone today and really have not had time to play with it, but it is so much faster than my Nexus 4. The screens just fly by.
Ordered a case and filled out the rebate for the free battery and charger. Waiting for the opportunity to get a charging sticker and I will be all set.

But if I don't like this phone, I will hunt you down and... Oh I forgot, this is the PC world of 2014, you can't joke around with threats...:D

Thanks for all the help here on the forums.

This phone is better and snappier than a Nexus!

Seriously. and unlike the HTC One, it has both an SD card slot and removable battery--those are requirements for me. it comes off looking quite like a unibody phone but the cover indeed comes off.

You can either hate or love flat design these days, but as far as the software and especially their implementation of the navbar go, they perfected it. very light, un-bloated, and doesn't lag.

Anybody have any experience with both the galaxy s5 and the g3? Going to get on an edge plan tomorrow to pick one of these up for my wife. From the little bit of time I've spent between the two, I'd say the s5 has the better screen (by a good bit) and the benefits of water resistance. The g3 on the other hand has the better all around camera (important for my wife) and note memory. My wife isn't a heavy user at all, so battery life will be fine on either. Anything I'm missing?
