Wow, an ad captcha? Really?

I went to the trouble of registering on this forum so that I could share some helpful troubleshooting info about the Droid Razr Maxx. While registering I had to enter a captcha. A captcha that I had to SIT THROUGH A SWIFFER COMMERCIAL FOR.

To hell with your site. I know for a fact that some of your users are waiting for an answer to this problem. An answer that I have, but am now not going to share with this site for their cruddy practices.

Welcome Orcisabast, welcome to the forums.

I want you to know that the reason there is the ad is because hosting a site like this isn't free, that's why that one ad, there when you register helps keep the site up. The captcha is to prevent spam bots from coming on here and spamming nonsense.

I am sorry if you do not like how things are ran, but it's how it is, and it is how it needs to be to keep the site up and running.

Again sorry, hope you can reconsider and think about coming back

OP - You wanted to help but had to wait a few moments to join the site (one that is FREE for you to use but costs quite a bit of money to host). So now you refuse to post the information that might, in theory, help THOUSAND of users (who have no control over the way the owner manages the site). Ok....???

While I don't agree with your methods nor your reasoning... you'll find that most of us will STILL welcome you here. ... so, welcome aboard (even though it sounds like you won't be returning)...

Sorry for your trouble. You wouldn't BELIEVE how much trouble we have with spammers, so we need SOME kind of way to control them. The idea of all this was to protect our site from spammers and to raise the money so you can even be here to begin with, not to inconvenience you. I hope you come back, but if you don't, I hope you find a site that you can enjoy!

Yeah, those bad 'ol spammers can be quite a issue, but thankfully we keep it under control.

Good luck finding an active, large and useful Android forum that DOESN'T have that same captcha.. I joined 4 and each one had the same kind of captcha. You don't even have to watch the whole ad, only like 3-4 seconds.
