Thought I was going to miss my Evo in terms of speed, wanted something a bit smaller so decided to go with this, wow, I dont miss my Evo one bit, this thing seems just as fast and Im loving stock Android as opposed to Sense, wondering if its worth to root but Im loving how as is except for sprint ID but doesn't really bother much. Very happy! :D
 
all Sprint ID is is a bunch of apps that you do not have to load up, if you have your prefrence of apps you make it up and have now a sprint ID.
 
Definitely worth rooting. You get much more free internal memory. I was running low on about 30-50 with stock rom and when I rooted I started fresh with 150 or so plus no Skin ID.
 
I want to use z4root. It doesn't seem to be available on the Android Market though. Can I download it elsewhere and put it on the phone?
 
z4root didn't work for me. I tried several times, no dice. It said it was rooted, but I could not use any apps that required root access.

I know a lot of people have used z4root on many different devices, but that app just bugs me because it roots your phone with a bunch of code you can't see. You have no idea what it's putting in there. If you go to the sites that show you step by step how to manually root the phone on your own you can see exactly what is going on.
 
I believe if you head over to XDA, you can find the z4root link. You have to do it through the computer, it's no longer in the market.
