Wow, getting 6000kbps speeds after 2.2 update

So I "re purchased" a Samsung Vibrant (I had sold it for $300 last month). Re Brought a mint condition one for $300. So nothing lost (although I did give my gel case away) but that's only $15 at Tmobile store.

Anyways, I missed the Vibrant a lot (I do own an iPhone 4 and BB Bold 9700).

But since 2.2 was finally officially released, I was back in the market for the Vibrant. So I can use both ATT and Tmobile 3G with the Vibrant again. I have both providers.

Just tested the speedtest app speeds. I am consistently getting 6000 kbps speeds in the Orlando FL area. Definitely faster than on 2.1 Before I would get anywhere between 2000-5000 kbps speeds. But with 2.2, getting up to 6000 kpbs speeds is amazing.

Try closing the app, or actually do a system restart, THEN...run only speedtest.net app. You see 6000 plus because after the first attempt, the CACHE is claiming most of your speed.
I also Live in Orlando, and get 5000 to 6000 AFTER the first attempt. Normal first tries are around 3000 and 600 upload..
WIFI is of course entirely different.

My goodness how much do you spend on phones? Do you live with your parents to have that much disposable income? ;-)

No, I own my own business. In my mid 30s. It may seem like I spend a lot of money on phones. And I do have a lot of disposable income. But I buy/resale a lot. Most of my phones are fully subsidized so I don't really lose money on these phones.

Like my iPhone 4. I got it for $299 plus taxes etc. I know I can resale it in May/June for still $400-500 before the next iPhone 5 launch.

But I am going to keep the Samsung Vibrant around much longer because of it's ability to support UMTS 1900 ATT band and UMTS 1700/1900 Tmobile 3G bands. It will be the perfect "spare" phone for either my ATT/Tmobile lines in the future.

WOW, Congrats man..It's nice to hear that someone who has their own business is still up and running in these tough times!

Sorry for the rather poor sense of humor.
Yes, if you have your own business and it is still going strong, good for you!

I just updated my dad's Vib and it always seems to be on Edge and I'm in the middle of Los Angeles. Is this normal for Tmob?

I live in the OC and when I drive through LA, i always get edge too. Seems like TMobile really sucks downtown.
