Hey all. I've recently installed JD on my rooted TBolt running CM7 RC1.7. I did it at first with my extended battery (which has been a necessity) and managed a full 24 hours without hitting the 15% warning. I decided to try it out with the factory battery, and I got something like 12 hours today when I hit the 15% warning and put it back on the charger. In both cases, I was on it all the time, checking connectivity, playing with speed tests, trying out GPS locks, browsing pages, etc. Basically, it was moderately heavy use. In both cases, I see an improvement in overall battery life. I have a few questions that I'm hoping some of you might be able to help me out with.
1. I'm concerned with connectivity with things like GTalk and Facebook. I use GTalk to stay in touch with my wife throughout the day, and it seems like I'm having to manually check now to see messages from her. Is there a way to keep myself online with GTalk while using JD, or does that basically defeat the purpose of the app?
2. For a novice user like myself, do you think going with the default automatic setting (with maybe just a tweak or two for things like GTalk, FB, etc.) is the best way to go, or do some of you have some great JD settings that get you improved battery life without sacrificing the feeling of being connected to your favorite apps when you want to be?
3. Shouldn't a guy who rooted his TBolt, flashed the updated RUU, and flashed the latest version of a great custom ROM be able to figure this stuff out by himself?
(I know, right?)
Thanks in advance for any help.
