Wow. No multiple SMTP servers?

Well, I took another chance with Android and bought an Incredible 2, assuming Google finally got its ducks in a row with Froyo. Great phone, but Android is still a diamond in the rough. Apparently, I can't set up multiple SMTP servers for my outgoing mail, which is a non-starter for me. Sadly, I'm going back to my iPhone. I really like the DINC2, but the lack of having full email functionality at home through my ISP and on the road is lame. :(

Which email app were you using? There are lots of different ones, which all offer different features. Personally, I've already got all of my email accounts to send/receive via one gmail account, but if you wanted to handle multiple accounts rather than merging, K9 mail would be a good app to check out.

Needing to support more than one outgoing SMTP does seem like weird thing to leave out, though it sounds more like your email provider is a bit lazy, or cheap, a single DNS entry can handle any number of gateways.

This is for a Roadrunner POP email account. Care to point me in a direction on how to accomplish this? Many thanks.

road runner.. hum
well for me
I couldnt add any email accounts other than the gmail.
I kept getting errors until I went to settings/accounts & sync/ and added them there.
I run a mail server as a lan admin, not using exchange but put my paramaters in
and that is working as well.
Sorry I couldn't help with your problem

I'm using K9 email and would love to have the option of a second smtp server for sending mail from home. If I'm on 3G I can send just fine, but on the wireless at home, and therefore using my Verizon DSL line, I can't send with my workplace smtp server. I use Thunderbird on my home computer and I can change smtp servers with no problem. Same with mac mail on my macbook.
