WTF...the Infuse 4G allows sideloading?

AT&T has this cute little "teaser" page:

Amazon Appstore for Android - Coming Soon to AT&T Phones

They probably put it up to discourage and minimize returns of the OMG LOCKED THE EFF DOWN Atrix.

I signed up for email alerts a long time ago. Not a whisper...

I fear this phone will fall into the abyss of "just another Android phone" and we will see updates slow to a standstill, staying on 2.2 and such while the hot new number is for sale. Yes, I saw the Google IO promise for support and updates, but I am leaning towards not being all that optimistic. ...and that's a shame because I love this phone (just tired of the "there's an update for the Amazon app store" message I get daily with my sideloaded app).

its coming to all at&t android phones on 2.2. the first phones that will be receiving an update will be the inspire, the captivate and i can't remember the 3rd one but its not the atrix(i work for at&t). eventually all android phones will have it and every phone released from now on starting with the infuse will have it enabled.

Oh wow...then what would you called the last two updates that the AT&T Atrix got? Those were nothing right? Yeah...updates on the Atrix really really suck. It has the worst support on all AT&T phones. I mean 2 big updates in less than 3 months is simply horrible!!!

Yes those weren't the sideloading updates but those updates have tremedously improved the Atrix. Would you not have them so that your complaint holds water?

I'm sorry, but complaining about not getting good updates because this one hasn't rolled out is simly in bad taste. I do give kudos to AT&T to get Moto to release the updates to make the Atrix a better phone. I'm with Bell and I have not gotten a single bloody update since the phone was release! My Atrix still have a capped HSUPA and no wifi, process nor battery improvements. I am not optimistic about getting any updates from Bell any time soon.
