So I've got this old Droid X that I had before the company I work with switched to the Ipos. It's not activated, so.. I can't "call VZW." It had quite a few pretty cool aps that I use, and would like to continue using on my wifi. From the research I've done, I downloaded the Gingerbread OS a couple days ago, and got the black screen yesterday. Just like everyone else, my keypad lights up, but not the screen. From what I've read and searched, most can do the Home+Power and do a factory reset, but... If I get the phone in JUST the right light, I can see that there's something going on in the screen, but it's so faint I can't tell what's what. The phone boots, and I can unlock it when it's done booting, but can't see anything. Does it sound like it's bricked?
If not, my 1 year old found it on the table yesterday, and by the time I realized he was in there, it was laying on the carpet floor. I don't think he hit it on anything, but I'm wondering if he might've gotten into it and turned the screen brightness down by accident?? Any pointers on where to go from here? If you could, answer in laymen terms... Please? Total newbie here.
Thanks!
