Help X stopped working

I haven't had any problems with my X until just now. I was talking on it and suddenly got disconnected and thought I just lost service, but when I looked at the phone the notification light was solid green, the screen was off and the power button will not do anything. So I pulled the battery and it still will not do anything. I plugged it into my computer and the green notification came back on but it's still dead. Any ideas on whats happened/what to do?

Sounds like you need a factory reset

Hopefully, you backed up all your data.

1. Turn the phone off.

2. Hold the Power and Home buttons down for about 5 seconds.

3. A screen with an exclamation will appear. Tap the Search key.

4. Scroll down to factory reset using the Volume Down button.

5. Confirm the selection.

6. Select Yes — delete all user data then tap OK.

thanks irmac, but mine is completely dead. No button combo at all will budge the phone, even tried connecting USB to desktop computer. Mine died when I plugged in the car charger. Received my replacement DX today, so will send the dead one back.

Same with mine, couldn't do anything with it at all. I also had to get a replacement, so I guess I will never know what happened lol. Thanks for trying to help tho irmac
