Help X10 2.1 Update - Issues/Problems

Hi guys,

I have just upgrade my x10 mini pro from donuts to eclair.
the drocap screen capture was works flawlesly before on donuts, but after upgrade to eclair, everytime i capture the result is a damage image. Looks like a screen resolution not match or sumptin, and this is happened on all kind of screen capture such as shootme and picme.

I would appreciate much if someone can help me to fix this.

I read somewhere i cant remember that the update was supposed to improve battery life has anyone noticed a significant difference

try using adb for screenshots.
i use droid explorer on pc...there's a screenshot and even a screencast available.

sorry cannot give you the link, but yes. i can acknowledge that.
using 1.6 i usualy charge twice in a day. now after updates i don't have to bring my charger to office. :)

I updated to 2.1 yesterday. The very first thing I did after updating was to download and install some live wallpapers.

I have to say I'm disappointed. Live wallpapers seem to make the touch screen act slower and that menu for adding widgets/arranging icons opens all the time. In other words it sucks.

I also noticed that the volume of the click sound for making selections is bound to the media volume, which I actually hate.

I can't find an option for setting SMS ringtone either.

The only good thing is that Angry Birds don't freeze anymore, but it's still a very laggy game.

All in all I don't really get what the hype was about, the update didn't do any good to my phone.

sorry but i cannot confirm. with this 2.1 update mine is snappier and more responsive on se original ui, and even on launcherpro plus ui menu.
try to check your background process.

Fixed by drocap2 update from market today ... wooohoooo :)

A live upgrade of a Rogers X10a from Android 1.6 (Donut) to Android 2.1 (Eclair) using the global generic firmware.

Both firmwares work on ANY X10, a or i. The v2.1 firmwares include both radios so they can be flashed on ANY X10.
 
Besides the upgrade process in itself, being a pain in the ass (why no OTN, like my HTC?), it seemed to fix most the bugs in 1.6. There is no difference in speed, but that wasn't really expected either (no JIT in 2.1). I had some issues with the alarm not sounding in 1.6, but have not tried this yet in the updated software. Else everything seems to work ok.
 
When i try to add a new contact from a text, long press on the contact nuymber it only adds it to road sync contacts and not the phone contacts. Anyone know why

where did you download your 2.1? because it always says that I have the latest whenever I download the software? and how did you do it? tnx
 
Hi, Since upgrading to 2.1 my Bluetooth will no longer pair with my Parrot CK3000 handsfree!

I turn the bluetooth on, make the phone discoverable, find the device, click to pair, enter the pin number, the car then says "pairing successful" but the phone sits on "Pairing......." for ages, doesn't seem to do anything, I left it a full 10 minutes but nothing. Then if I turn off the bluetooth and turn it back on it just goes back to "Click to pair"

Tried running a repair on the PC companion and didn't restore my backup incase that might have caused an issue but it's the same!

Help please!

I updated to 2.1 on my Mini Pro tonight Bazinga, hahahah
anyway, I cant seam to find ADW launcher on the app store anymore.
Anyone have any ideas why???

Also I seem to be missing quite a few of my contacts after the back up, tried backing up again but still no luck

Forgot to mention that it will connect to another phone and can send and recieve files no problem!
 
since 2.1 update from Tmobile today i have found 2 problems

1 scrolling makes a noise come out of the earpiece ( not loud but its there)

2 and most annoying everytime i connect the usb cable and click connect to pc
I get a message saying "please insert memory card and reconnect usb cable

card is installed and working fine 8GB
 
I updated my X10 mini pro from 1.6 to 2.1 and I discovered a bug in the new FW.Tell me please if this happens to you too. It has to do with the annoying "language bar" that shows when you use the keyboard. I uncheck the "default input settings" in the "language & keyboard" menu and the the language bar does not show up anymore.After a while the bar shows up again and in the menu the "default input settings"shows up checked . In 1.6 this setting works ok(it remains unchecked) and the language bar "dissapears",but in 2.1 it re-checks by itself.

It appears the problem above was caused by Winamp :eek: ...not a problem
because the 2.1 media player knocks the socks off the 1.6 version in terms of music quality so I don't need a winamp :cool:

I have also noticed a problem which may go under the radar but would like to bring it to light.

Basically, the left button of the x10 mini pro on U20i is giving problems.

If you let the screen timeout on its own from the main menu, the left button does not work to show the pattern unlock screen, but the the middle and right buttons do work to show the slide unlock screen.

In all other instances it does work, e.g. if you lock it yourself.

I would be interested to see if any other users are having the same problem. It is a small problem, but annoying.

Hi,

Yes I have noticed that certain live wallpapers slow down the phone, making it laggy. The only one I have used which is causing no problems is the asteroid wallpaper.
 
Hi guys

I upgraded to 2.1 this morning because a few days ago my touch screen just stopped responding altogether and I couldn't do anything with the phone, let alone answer calls or read messages. Someone at Sony Ericsson seemed to think the firmware upgrade would solve my problem.

Well now the touch screen works again, but sometimes when I open the apps menu it just randomly selects items and goes into them without my touching anything. Just now it opened up the calculator and it was like a ghost was entering a whole lot of numbers and symbols. Very weird. Even when I exit whatever app it opened by itself, it will keep going back into it until I lock the phone and unlock it again. Sometimes from the home screen it will randomly open the music player and start playing something (not ideal at work!). Anyone have any ideas? Do you think I just have a faulty unit?

I had the same 'problem', but it's not the fault of your device. Menu button is no longer used for unlock the screen. I found this information in the new version of the user guide (published by SE after 2.1 update).

Thanks for you reply. I understand that the menu button is not used to unlock the screen any more. The issue I am having is when the screen timeout has been set for 30 seconds for example, and locks after 30 seconds automatically, the left menu button gives no response.

However, if I lock the screen before the 30 seconds are up myself using the top arc button, the left menu button always gives a response, showing the unlock pattern screen. It's really annoying. I would appreciate it very much dude if you could test this on your phone and let me no if you are having the same issue. Thanks again!

Wow that is really weird! Unless you have some sort of remote access application running lol, I would defo say that is a faulty unit!
