Like the title says. J&Z are close to making a fully working rom for 2.1
X10 Custom ROM AOSP - xda-developers

I am new to this, Does anybody know how to install their rom?

there are steps on that thread but it does not make much sense.

The recovery menu, is it the same as the flash tool? or the back up n restore on the phone?

Thanks

Interesting I had a look at something similar I don't know if it was the same ROM and it looked like they'd ironed out most of the problems. Hopefully we can get a stable version then we can get rid of all the resource hogging SE crap

^what he said

I don't think you can remove timescape or mediascape because other core programs need them to run. I read somewhere (probably on here, not very scientific soz) that it improves the X10s performance drastically and will probably save battery.

Am trying to weigh up the pros and cons of flashing to the custom vanilla 2.1 rom as am currently running the official 2.1, which I have already stripped bare of much of SE's crap (Timescape, Mediascape, Moxier, Face Recognition and a whole lot more) so don't really know of how much benefit the custom rom would be other than it just may be cosmetically better.

Title of the thread says custom 2.1 Rom as does the provided link to the XDA site however two posts down X10iuser's link is to a 2.2 Rom that being developed. As others have mentioned I'm pretty good with the current 2.1, but getting a Froyo Rom (2.2) would be interesting since it's not clear that SE will ever release it. Does anyone know if the 2.2 is stable enough for the masses? Perhaps someone could report of they have done the 2.2 rom? Thanks.

I believe this should answer few questions.

Basically J & Z the two GOD behind x10 custom rom needs to fix everything in 2.1 so they can apply them to 2.2 & 2.3 later.

The custom 2.1 rom is on bate now.

we need to have as much as possible coded in opensource so hat we can move that code to 2.2 and 2.3
se did not provide hardware drivers so we need to guess and patch official open source code
se released only parts of code and those are useless

we need to fix in 2.1 as much as we can (drivers) and you are helping us and youself
