X2 Getting Ice Cream Sandwiched?

Just bought my dx2 two days ago and am taking it back to get an iPhone. The camera is bad, and the bionic is even worse. This is supposed to be addressed in ICS, but the d2 isn't currently on the list to receive the update at stated by Motorola here:

It doesn't say the DX2 is on the list but it doesn't say it isn't either lol. It says at the end of the paragraph with the few phones set to "possibly" get ICS, "We will provide more precise guidance on timing after post-public push of Ice Cream Sandwich by Google, as well as any possible additions to this list of devices."
There is still hope with this Droid. "Help us Obi-Wan Kenobi, you're our only hope"

Clearly I read the article, but thanks for the re-post.

Since it has recieved the update to gingerbread, it could easily be updated to ICS. The only spec it is lacking is the front-facing camera for face unlock

I find it ironic that one poster in this thread felt 2.3.4 would never come to the X2 yet within a few weeks after his post, it arrived and it vastly improved the phone.

Some people just need to have patience! :)

An update: I'm definitely updating to the GNexus. I've had it with the DX2 glitches, so it doesn't matter if it's getting ICS. Bring on the Samsung goodness.

Funny, I came here from a Sammy phone and that thing was so ****ing glitched that it literally drove me to the brink of insanity a few times. Good luck, I hope your experience fares better than mine did.

I tell you, once 2.3.4 came out, the X2 has improved. I'm now running the Liberty ROM and things are running smooth now.

I recently rooted my DX2 and froze all the Verizon/Excess baggage and now my phone:
1. No longer reboots randomly
2. Doesn't crash every time I try to use Google navigator/maps
3. Seems much snappier overall

This makes me a little less likely to try a different ROM, but I am interested in the pluses/minuses associated with the alternate ROM.
My understanding is that CM7 is not available for the DX2, I'm aware of Liberty, have you tried any others? In your opinion if I have finally stabilized my phone and have the speed back up, is it worth it to try Liberty?
