Help x8 message notification

hi all when i send a message the notification message sounds how can i stop this and will incoming message tone still sound if i can disable outgoing tone-thanks
 
When you send a message you get a notification sound? Are you using an xperia x8 by any chance? Because mine doesn't. And aso I cant't make it do it. So my guess is that you're not using stock sms app. If it's true, you answer is in that app. :)
 
yes ive got xperia x8 and im using one of my own tunes as notification message tone,about 15-20 seconds long and it sounds when i send and recieve a message
 
Are you on pay as you go? Coz sometimes when you send a message it gives you an update of your credit balance after its sent which usually triggers off the sms notification sound.
 
That's the same for me too.

I'm also using X8 on pay as you go (02 Simplicity) and get the balance and notification sound every time I send a text which isn't really ideal.

It's not a feature of the phone itself, it's a network feature and you'd need to contact your network provider to switch off balance notification on your account.
 
OK, just as a follow up to my last post above I contact O2 (online through their live chat help facility) and they have turned off the balance notification on my account now (well I'll now in the next 24 hours if its working anyway!).
 
thanks sovoth ive been in touch with o2 and the idiot on the phone didnt even know how to do it, he had to go find out from someone else so hopefully in next 24 hours it will be switched off-thanks to all for your help
