Xbox or PS3.... Or Supernintendo?

Hmm....This is tough since everyones listing lots of game systems...My order:

PSOne/SNES (Tied; Look at the great titles for both) > NES > PS3 > Sega Genesis > Atari (lulz. I'm old) > Sega Saturn > Dreamcast > N64 > XBOX 360

Forum Games sorry, I'm thinking someone haxxored my account COUGHyeahhaCOUGH

No not really, but if he posted in here, he'd say Forum Games pwnz all

I like every system I ever owned equally. I had.... probably not in order and might leave 1-2 out due to forgetting...:

Atari 2600, Coleco Vision, NES, Sega Master System, SNES, Sega Genesis, N64, PS One, Dream Cast, Turbo Graphix 16, PS 2, Orig Xbox, Xbox 360, PS3, Wii.

The last 5 I still have. And I use my Wii or PC to get my old school gaming on.

I tried gaming on my PC....and the most I did, do play is The Sims 1,2 and 3...(dont judge me..lol) I did play some Fantastic 4, Prince of Persia, Silent Hill games too.

Just got into the handheld systems. Like my sons 3DS and my Vita equally. I feel more comfortable playing my Vita tho.

We can fight about Android and iPhone all day, every day....but when it comes to gaming....I have no favorites.

Had to add...I did play a version of Madden one year on my PC and on my orig Xbox or PS2. The graphics were better on the PC. A PC with a decent hardware config will probably give you better graphics.

Given the game library the Super Nintendo had, I would say it wins hands down. I own a PS3 and aside from certian titles (demon's souls, MGS4,and RDR) it's just eye candy.

Depends on what you do when you play games. The 360 is better than any other console or PC in terms of gaming with friends. Sure you can set up teamspeak, ventrillo, etc. on the pc for a game, and some games even have it built in, but the 360 is hand over fist the best at talking to new "random" gamers, for lack of better words.

All that said, I prefer my home theater PC. It is my DVR, hooked to my surround and bigscreen, where I can play all the roms I could ever want. We built the thing a few months back and I am dismayed I waited this long to get one.

We have a 360 and PS3. In the last year the PS3 has only seen blurays (and I might just get a BR drive for the HTPC instead). I am not sure the 360 has even been turned on in over a year.

I see some have picked Super Nintendo.

I'm sorry....my first console was an Atari 2600. I cannot see anyone picking the Super Nintendo over the PS3 or 360. Just based on graphics alone I wouldnt pick the Super Nintendo. Mabye for nostalgia, reminiscence reasons. Phantasy Star was my first role playing game (think it started on the Sega Master System?) and had me hooked on RPG's for a long time. Now I barely play RPG's.

Games like GTA....sometimes I play it just to drive around and listen to the radio. Just drive and cause mayhem. Final Fantasy is alot more richer, alot more in depth on the later systems. Alot of times I play games on the 360 or PS3 and just be in awe at the graphics, the ambiance...lol. The way the games draws you in its world. Especially on an HDTV. That plus surround sound system = amazing gaming experience IMO.

Madden is another example. I cannot believe one would really say they prefer it on the SNES vs the PS3 or 360...lol.

I have a Wii that I play alot of the Super Nintendo games on....my PC too. And its just not the same overall experience. I understand its all preference...I just look at it like someone saying they prefer the old tube TV's vs. an HDTV. Or standard def channels to HD channels. Or DVD's to Blu Ray.

I like all that I mentioned...but if I had to choose...I would choose the later technology. Even tho I like HD channels...I record most things on standard def ones. Takes up less space on the DVR. I meant to record this year's E3 on an HD one tho...lol.

For PC games...I need to use a controller. And PC games are nice. Madden looked alot better on the PC vs the orig Xbox and PS2. I'm just not a gamer on the PC. I think most of the games I like arent on the PC.

I agree. I also started back in the 2600 days, had something called a Vectrex, Sega Genesis, etc., and the way games are now is how I always wished they would be back then. Back then you had to use your imagination to get into an rpg lol. Plus, when you play those old games now, they are freaking hard! Modern controls are so much better. I've bought those compilations of old games before, thinking it would be cool to play Dig-Dug or something again, and they usually just gather dust after a few plays. Modern games ftw. (I still prefer single player games, though)

Although im a big fan of gaming i havent really owned that many consoles.

Atm im firmly a PS3 fan.

But should be buying my first XBOX 360 in a month or 2 so will be able to decide better then. There are a few 360 specific game series that i am itching to try - HALO, GEARS and FABLE for starters

Gaming on the PC im 50/50 on
Undoubted PC is the ONLY thing to play RTS on and i used to prefer it for playing FPS games like halflife and halflife 2 but have been converted recently to console FPS with Deus ex HR.
On the minus side I have had plenty of problems running games on the PC due to compatabilty with the hardware of my PC.

Although again I have never really been able to afford a PC that was capapble of doing any serious gaming due to its spec. And having recently tried and enjoyed WOW i was bested by the fact the the crappy internet we have gave the game monumental lag when entering the first big city.

I have however recently connected my PC up to my 37" HD tv for the first time and the results are outstanding. In a few months i will be buying a gaming PC tower and my opinion might be completely different.

I prefer PC/Laptops for browsing the internet, homeworks etc. and Console for gaming, due to the controllers. I'm not saying I don't game at all on the PC - I play a little CS, GTA III and AssaultCube, but nothing else.

PC > N64 > SNES > 360 > PS3 > Wii > Dreamcast

+1

Besides PC the only gaming systems I have are the following:

Atari, SNES, N64 .. that is all haha

I use be a console gamer when the 360 first came out I loved it.. but then I started to play on PC and realized how much easier it was with a mouse and keyboard. Though on PC you have a higher chance that someone may be using hacks.

Thats my preference.

Still have my SNES and a few games, all still work and have save files from back in the day! I got a PS3 to act as my bluray player. I still have NES, Wii, original XBOX, PS1, PS2, Gamecube, Dreamcast.

Yes but in retrospect look at all the neat pc mods you can find. Left 4Dead for example. The teletubby mod. Much more terrifying than zombies.

You raise a very valid argument there! I do like modding games that I play myself, and you just cannot do that on any console game, at least not as easily.

back in the early days of Call of Duty I modded all the weapons and vehicles for the multiplayer for COD UO, made the American pistol full auto made a few of the weapons more powerful, and made the tanks lightning fast haha.

So yes there is still a plus to the negative I had listed earlier, and it completely slipped my mind. I know I would be scared if I was running away from a blood thirsty "Tinky Winky?" or "poe" haha
