Help Xoom Wifi question

jolindaf

Lurker
I can connect my Xoom to my home wifi network with no issue, the response is great. However when I connect to my Samsung Epic Hotspot the Xoom shows to be connected but the connection icon in the lower right corner is grey rather than blue as it is when connected to my home wifi. The Epic shows the Xoom connected, correct MAC address.

I did not get any contract with Verizon as I intended to only use the wifi connection.

Any ideas?

Thank you.

Not sure if this will help but, are you sure you've disconnected your Epics WiFi connection to your router before trying to connect to the Epics hotspot? I forgot that once and troubleshooted it for an fricking hour before I realized what I had done.

I tried it again from my office today, no other wifi network but my Epic 4G. I even chatted with Motorola support and was directed to contact my carrier. If I am not able to use the Wifi hotspot of my cell phone then I may just have to go to an Ipad. Sigh

Really sorry you're having trouble with that. I'm not having any difficult with this feature, in fact I'm posting this via that same feature. I've got/had a few Apple products over the years and believe me you're not guaranteed to have no problems with their wireless products either. I still have problems with my iMacs wireless connections. Good luck to you.

Thank you all for the responses for this newbie. I finally took my Epic to Sprint and found out that Sprint was having an issue with the hotspot on the Epic. Mine was the 4th or 5th one they had to fix since Saturday. I ended up with a complete reset but I did get upgraded to Andriod 2.2.

Again thank you all.
