I haven't found any benchmarks specifically done on the release version of the Xperia Play yet, but I did find this:

The Play has the same Adreno 205 chipset. I found that link here...
What is Adreno 205 and how does it compare to other GPUs? - Smartphone Benchmarks (SmartBench 2010/Quadrant) Forum
...which claims that the SGX540 was the current champ - yes, even over the iPhone 4 which has a PowerVR SGX535.
If anyone has any more details, please share!
