Help Xperia Play use in Canada ??

tbernis

Lurker
Hi All,
This past september I brought an unlocked Experia Play from Europe to Canada. At the time I tried to connect using Bell but they said they don't support the handset because it's too new !
I connected with Rogers without a problem, but after 5 months with the Rogers substandard services I need to find a new carrier.

I've tried them all once again, Bell, Koodo, Virgin, Wind, Telus, with no luck !

The bloody phone was originally unlocked, both Rogers and Bell have compatible networks, so why the heck doesn't the play work with Bell or anyone else ??????

Any help will be appreciated !

Unfortunately I am not familiar with the networks in Canada, however when you say you have tired them, did you actually try a SIM in the phone to see if you got network reception?

Yes, I tried a SIM from every one ! The sales people in all the stores were
really helpful with this...

Every time the only network detected was Rogers. The very least I would have
expected to see is the two main 3G GSM networks (Bell and Rogers) not just Rogers.

I'm with Fido (I know its and off shoot of Rogers) but I like there service, andI have a nice contract so you should try them if you want
