xperia R800x verizon, deciding

hello guys I was thinking about buying a xperia r800x from verizon with a prepaid plan, I dont use data will only use wifi, I was wondering how the verizon version works with the snes emulator and the GBA one. is there some type of tweak I need to do for the app and roms to be in the SD card, ive been reading and most of it says that I need to unlock the phone? I have never owned any smartphone so im not too familiar with it. any answers will be appreciated
 
As far as I can tell you just need to download the app play. I'd used the phone for a few weeks and I had a some different emulators and it worked fine.
 
shouldnt I just buy a unlocked phone if its that complicated to get a verizon one? I mean I have t mobile right now , but my mother told me to get verizon since they have better phone service. well I can either buy a R800a or get the verizon one, but it seems like the R800a is easier.

OK, which provider are you planning on using? The Verizon Xperia Play can only be used on CDMA networks, whereas the R800a/at/i can be used on GSM networks.

And unless you shell out the cash for an unlocked phone, you're most likely gonna have to pay to unlock the bootloader (in my experience from dealing with the R800x)

the verizon one sound too complicated I like the white one better anyways
I guess ill find a guide on doing back up and stuff maybe use a 8gb sd card it comes with to store back up data and put an 32 gb one in for everything else
