XPLAY wont play media through external speakers

I have an R800i, any media i play through earphones will work fine, but when i plug in any external speakers the media will continue playin through the internal phone speakers, anyone know if this is a settings issue or something else??

It could be the case that the cable that you are using is not compatible with the phone. If so it will continue to play through the internal speaker even if that cable is connected. I'd suggest try a different cable to see if you can make it work properly.

I know that the cable is compatable because its my second xperia play and the first one worked with no problems, my new one was sent from an insurance company, i just dont understand why the earphones would work and speakers wont. it must be a fault.
