xScope, a multitouch pinch zoom browser

Is pinch zoom working in this browser? I dont mind the 'pin' zoom but sometimes i feel pinch would be so much easier

Pinch zoom is working fine for me. After the update, I did have to restart the phone to get pinch zoom to work.

Put 'Redefined' theme as default.
Original default theme is under development.
Working on many other things too. Sorry if your problem hasn't been address in this update.

Thanks everyone who cares this thing! I have seen several other threads discussing xScope. But I refrained from replying, as a general rule of me.
If anyone paid for xScope and feels it didn't serve you well, please do send me your order number to xscopebrower@gmail.com for a full refund (google may not return its 30% cut however).

Dear xScope:

Thank you for all of your time developing this app! I have only one suggestion for a future version of xScope: Let me close the last tab.

The behavior would be similar to the process of opening a new tab with "favorites" in it and then closing the original tab.

I know that I could just hit "favorites" to go to my favorites or "home" to go home, but that doesn't remove the tab's history, so it's not what I want.

Thank you!

First app I bought, glad I did. I'm not gonna say it's leaps and bounds over default, but it was a worthy purchase and one LOADED with potential.

Basically it is like a restart thing without restart?

Hey x, you know what would be really awesome? If you gave us the option to show the browser status in the notification bar in the "Ongoing" section. Something like "Browsing <page title>" and pressing on it would show the browser. PLEASE!!! ;)

If this thing had flash it'd pretty much be unstoppable. The interface is just fantastic, and it's at least as fast as the other browsers I've used.

Fantastic browser, huge kudos to the author. I love it. I haven't paid for an app since I got my G1 until now. I tried xScope it for about an hour before I paid for it. I'm running it under the latest CM ROM.

I love the pin zoom: it's the best zoom system I've ever used. I love how snappy the download system is. I love the system to pull down the URL bar and notification bar. xScope's usability really stood out to me. Again, thank you to the author.

The only issue that I've run into is if I use the Home key to exit, xScope seems to lose all of my link history. To re-produce:
Visit a site. Open a link in a new tab, and notice the link change to the "visited" colour. Press the Home key to exit xScope. Return to the site. The link has reverted to the "unvisited" colour.

If I exit using the back button, it works correctly. Even if I long-press and choose the clear cache option, when I return to the page, the link shows using the "visited" colour. The "Auto clear cache on exit" option is not ticked.

It's a minor issue, and I now know how to work around it (don't exit using Home), but it was frustrating until I worked out what was going on.

I would love to be able to sync favourites with my google bookmarks, but it's hardly a show-stopper not having it.

I'd join the ranks of the "creepy comments about marrying xScope" cohort, except I'm already married, and my wife would certainly object.

Hmmm, make that "loses my visited links history if I do something". It seems to be impossible to keep visited links marked as visited long-term.

That said, even with this problem, it's a much better browser than anything else I've used.

Is anyone else having this visited links problem (see my previous post), and if so, is there a work-around?

Might be dumb question: When we pin zoom is there a way to make the text format to the screen size like the Hero? It zooms fine but the letters get big but it does not reformat to the screen size. Thanks for any info/help. :)

Hey xScope,

I've followed this browser since the Evo was announced (and I needed to start planning for Android) and am impressed with it's progress. My question though is about flash support...is that in the pipeline, what can you do to implement it, and what are the limitations to what you can do? I figured maybe only official browsers would support it, but I think I saw that Dolphin HD can display flash? Just wondering whats in store as it may be the only (but biggest) set back for now.

SprintFun,

HTC has flash 4.1 or something.
Skyfire can play some flash videos.
As far as I can tell about Dolphin, I don't think it plays any.
Video is just a portion of that true flash can offer. Flash thing is way beyond any smalll group's capability. That's why Adobe and google are working together to bring it truly to android.
Then xScope, stock, Dophin, skyfire and all other android webkit based browsers should be able to play flash. Except Firefox.
EVO 4 will be the most notable phone this year I think. Even without true flash support, its HTC's flash implementation should be OK.

The 2.1 update did break the reflow thing. I am looking for a way to force reflow of text after zooming. Thanks

Except some hacks and tweaks, the app does not actually manage styles of displaying of links.
It seems that the underlying webkit component kicks in to do some house work once in a while but not on every click. For example, if I login to a gmail account, and close the browser immediately, no matter it is stock or xscope, it loses all login information. If I keep playing for a while, and somehow it remembers username and password

great browser.
only question: if I have it set to hide the tab bar when only
one tab is open, then how do I open a new tab without going back
into settings and unchecking that option. unless I just don't see it,
there is no 'new window' or 'new tab' option.

thanks
