Root XTR vs Cyanogen/Kaos Froyo

I have been running (FroYo) Tazz v5 for a few days now and have liked it so far. Flashed v6 last night and saw an increase in lag on my Eris. Went through and rechecked all my settings and still have some lag. I am flashing xtr right now. Froyo was nice but didn't really have anything I absolutely needed, so I am going back to 2.1 now. I really just want a fast and stable rom. My main issue with rooting is the amount of work not getting done because I am messing with my phone!

I think your lagg may have just been ADW launcher, I noticed after I moved away from ADW and used LauncherPro, lagg was gone. I had similar issues in V5 of Tazz. I'm a happy camper.

I was thinking that might be it, but I just used it as another excuse to try more ROM's. Now I am running xtrROM and it is pretty blazing fast plus the battery life is killer.

there is the noob root user coming out of me I guess

naa. It is small. Its a trade off. Larger download for a 2.1 rom but everything works vs. a froyo rom where the download is smaller but only 90% of the functions work...

IKEED IKEED.

absolutely. xtr comes with the android default home screen. You can load any back on. Just go to market and download launcherpro and install it, configure it, and love it.

I am with frisco in opinion. xtr is the best rom I have used. Can't wait for 3.1 to come out of beta.

I can't seem to get LauncherPro to load. It's an option when I hit Home, but nothing happens when I choose it. I've only got the same three home screen XTR default.

Edited to add that I've got the LauncherPro toolbar, but I only have 3 home screens.

Teleburst....

You need to go into menu and preferences and change the settings in LauncherPro to add or subtract screens..

What are everyones memory settings for Launcher Pro with XTR? I use light and compressed home screen caches.
