Root xtrROM 4.04 Final Beta Release!

I only get the 50% bug after reboots and when i do reboot i immediately hit airplane mode for about 5 minutes. that is the only way i have found to clear it up.

Hopefully this will be something that will be fixed in the future. In the mean time, I will keep my eyes open for a fix.

As I was told, the general consensus is that it really doesn't hurt anything, it's mostly just something thats displayed more then anything else. I have noticed no difference in battery usage when it is displaying that or not. I think it's just a message glitch.
 
Do I need to do anything more than flash the Flash 10.1 zip to get it up and running? I've flashed the zip file and when I go to flash websites, it still says I need to download the latest flash version.
 
I am not running this new rom. Put it on my bad boy today. No known issues yet. I am not running setCPU and I Have animations turned off. I will report back with any high/low points seen. The only thing I will be able to compare too is EvilEris. I only had one issue with that is that the gps would not shut off after I used the navigator and the navigator would randomly turn on and I could not get it off.
 
Noticing two things this morning, 1.) USB debugging connected even when not connected to anything and 2.) doesn't seem to sync unless i do it manually, any thoughts on number 2?

After flashing the zip I shut down my phone and restarted it.

Flash works great, with no error messages.

I'm not sure if that's a requirement, I doubt it, but it seems like a good habit after flashing anything or making any other change to the system, even an app installation from Market like Weather Bug.

why is everyone going crazy over flash 10.1? maybe i don't know what is so good about it


also, the more important question, if I download 4.0.4, do I have to have 3.0.3 already on my sd or can I go ahead, delete it, and flash 4.0.4?
 
alot of websites use flash. Also its something new that us geeks can try to get to work, break, and then complain that its not working again! hehe. Frisco..have you tried 4.0.5 its xtrSENSE but still xtr. Is the sense rom any noticeably slower than the straight xtrrom? I would imagine it would be but not sure.

You can delete your 3.0.3 zip and just flash 4.0.4. You can also leave the 3.0.3 zip on the sdcard if you think you'll go back to using it.

I used the Sense, and yes it is a little slower. Not really any lag per se, it just doesn't quite jump like xtrrom.. but as far as sense roms go, it is probably the fastest sense rom
 
So I assume since we saw 4.0.5 release for Sense yesterday that we may see one more update to 4.0.5 for the Vanilla XTR release.

I hope so. Last Friday I decided to try out kaos.froyo again, and ran it through the weekend. I was planning to switch back to XTR yesterday, but decided to hold off until version 4 goes off beta. At this point, though, he needs to fix that gmail sync issue before I can switch over.

I've cleared the data for Gmail and Gmail Storage. If I force a manual sync, it will fetch new mail, but otherwise nothing happens. I've got Background Data enabled and all the usual sync options enabled. Argh....

Anyone else having this problem? It looks like I might have to go back to 3.0.3..

Same here. Zach knows about this issue and is working on it.

Yeah I am am holding off as well. I think I have too high of expectations coming from 3.0.3. I wonder if XTR 4 can realistically be as flawless as 3.0.3.
 
So after close to a full day of use, I have not seen any major lag or issues that I had with 2.1v3 or with the evileris. The internet pops up on the first try every time. And the Navigator does not load randomly. I am also posting this while wirelessly tethered. I am in the woods as I post. It is pretty snappy. Of the 3 different roms other than the Verizon rom, this one is the better of the choices. I hope to try some others in a few days.


If anyone has any suggestions on things I should be testing, let me know. I will give them a run through.

Also, I went and got a separate memory card to use when flashing. Not sure who's idea that was, but it was a good one.
