assuming I'd be able to install handcent or chompsms and then remove the default messenger? I mean i've got root..i should be able to do it lol...just didnt know if the htc messenger had any tie ins with any other apps?
Root isn't required to replace the stock messaging app. All you have to do is turn off notifications in the stock app and make sure they are turned on in Handcent (or other program). If another program needs to load a messaging app it will ask you which one you want to use and you can select "default" at that time.
praetorian...I do realize that...but why even have the stock messaging app installed if I do have root and have the ability to remove it? Hence why I was asking if the default messaging app has any tie ins with any other apps that if I WERE to remove it..would mess things up?
