I have been getting yahoo e-mail on my Thunderbolt with no issues since I received it about two months ago. All of a sudden nothing is showing up.

I deleted the account and set it up again and sent myself an e-mail from a diffent account and still nothing shows up.

Any ideas what is going on?

Thanks

Yahoo mail is not working on many phones at the moment. I dont know if they will let it work again, but they do have an app in the market for their mail. Works and is fast.

It seems like they are making people go to the app instead of using the "Mail" app.

Try clearing data. I've had similar issues with the stock news app. It loses the ability to sync for some reason. I messed with toggling the sync settings for the app and cleared the data, then it worked again. Otherwise, this same problem happened on my wife's Incredible and I had to wipe it to get it to log back into her yahoo account. I'll bet clearing the data on Mail fixes the problem, though.

Same problem here. Stopped Syncing with my Yahoo acct on 6/19.
Tried deleting acct, flushing cache, etc.
Still no yahoo emails coming across.

Any help?

Same problem. Clearing cache AND data unfortunately do not help.
Not sure about it being a yahoo issue as 2 other yahoo accounts work fine (yes all the settings on the web based acounts all the same).
Adjusted every setting possible. Sending works, folders recognized, just wont receive mail! And it just all of sudden happened 3-4 days ago.

Having the same issue, but it was working before I did the radio update last night. I noticed that my verizon email works, but the settings are for POP, instead of the IMAP. Tried manually configuring my yahoo account using POP, and it works now..

Update: Finally got it to work.. I am assuming since I did the radio update, that the mail settings changed... 1) went into menu-settings-manage apps-all. 2) selected mail-clear all data. 3) now open up mail, and you should only see (2) options exchange setup and other (pop3/imap)...4) select pop, and enter in your yahoo info...

Update: Not sure if Yahoo is doing something behind the scenes, but the option below is not working correctly now. Even configuring Gmail to POP Yahoo is not working now.

open up stock email, and add account... select configure it manually.. for incoming settings, make sure your username is the same as your email address... server info is: pop.mail.yahoo.com.. ssl security.. port 995.. for outgoing, server is smtp.mail.yahoo.com.. ssl security... port 465...

I am having a similar issue receiving Yahoo mail in my Outlook client. I have Yahoo plus and stopped receiving mail two days ago. Using the web site is fine. Will not work via POP3 client.

I've been having this problem since Thursday of last week. Could send mail but could not check it.

this is what I did.

1.) Contacted Verizon and they had a tech set up a phone with my mail account and he couldn't access it either. Which should have worked if the below solution was based on storage on the phone cache. (as he was using a different phone.

2.) created a new Yahoo account for testing purposes. added it to the phone and it worked first time. So .... figured it was a problem with my Yahoo account.

3.) In the mean time. I decided to try the below steps. worked perfectly and downloaded my mail.

Works great now.

just FYI to all. -mike

EDIT: I should note that it now works with ONLY using POP and NOT using IMAP. So there is still a problem with IMAP. I think this problem is Yahoo.

This must be Yahoo, as mine quit working last evening around 6PM EST. What's strange is that when I logged into Messenger this morning, it wouldn't log me in, and when I went to Yahoo on my computer, it said that "Your account appears to have been compromised, please change your password". Coincodence that this all happened at the same time?!? I changed my password online.. AND on the phone I've made sure the POP settings were correct and cleared data, and reset up the new mail, and it's telling me authentication failed; verify username and password. Note that before I cleared my data, it would allow my information to go in (including the NEW password), and would even send mail, just not receive. I hope they fix this, as I can't stand the Yahoo mail application..

Same/similar problem - I was resetting my passwords and thought that was what caused it!
Deleted account - set it up again and the Default Mail app for Android cannot receive Yahoo Mail. I can SEND Yahoo Mail just fine. No errors in the setup (using IMAP with incoming set to android.imap.mail.yahoo.com - just like it was BEFORE it stopped working). SSL, XLogin Required, outgoing server - android.smtp.mail.yahoo.com

as I posted in the other thread about this exact same thing, this is a yahoo move and not verizon issue.

download the free yahoo mail app in the market. problem solved.

it is a yahoo issue which caused issues on HTC sync side cause it works fine on stock
android and yahoo mail from the market
we need to find a stock email apk and well be fine
I'm happy i wasn't the only one and that we have options
