Help Yahoo email

Maelstrom'

Newbie
Hello....

This is my first thread. Seems like a great site.

I had a question about Yahoo email on my new HTC Thunderbolt. I have several email accounts. Two gmails and 2 yahoos among others. The g-mail accounts when through without a hitch obviously. I am unable to set up more than one yahoo account. I keep getting the error message "account name already exists" when I attempt to enter the second yahoo account. I even tried to enter an additional "att.net" account and I got a similar problem.

Is there a reason for this? I know its a Google phone, but is anyone else aware of a limitation on how many Yahoo mail accounts you can set up in a Droid?

Thanks

I'm not sure as I only have one Yahoo account, but it wouldn't surprise me if it's intentional on the part of Yahoo. I know the Yahoo Mail app for Android will let you do multiple accounts. Otherwise, an app like K-9 or another 3rd party mail app will only work for the paid version of Yahoo mail. You may be stuck using Yahoo's own app for just Yahoo mail and, from my previous experience with it, it's not too bad. Just a hassle if you're working with lots of emails from your Yahoo and Gmail accounts.

Let us know what you end up doing as I doubt you're the first person to run into this, just the first to ask.

you may have to set the specific pop/smtp servers, unless the att.net (hosted by yahoo) is setup as an imap.

either way, use the yahoo mail app- it's free, easy to use, and even better...it's push email.

the only problems I've had with it are: 1) sometimes gets bogged up, so dont get pushed messages. you have to go in and manually check. typically, restarting the phone or doing a clear data will fix it. and 2) if you restart the phone, you have to actually run the app for it to work. in other words, it doesnt load on it's own during boot up.

I'm hoping these 2 issues can be fixed in an update.

Thanks. The Yahoo Mail App did the trick. It doesn't look like I miss a beat with the PUSH feature of the Yahoo Mail.

Thanks again.
