Help Yahoo mail app not pushing

hey everyone! i have both my gmail and yahoo email accounts being pushed to my HTC inspire flawlessly since i got my inspire when it first came out. and just recently, yahoo mail suddenly stopped pushing all my mails to my device. gmail still works. i'm using the gmail and yahoo mail apps -- not the built in stock mail client on the htc inspire. i didn't change any settings or anything so i'm a bit boggled why all of a sudden yahoo mail stopped working. if i open yahoo mail app, it will then sync and pull the emails that have come in since i last opened the app. i'm not sure if this is a known issue with the current version of yahoo mail. is someone out there having the same issue or is this an isolated one for me? i even resorted to hard reseting my phone thinking that i may have done something that i'm aware thus affecting the yahoo mail app, but still to no avail. it's still not working. any ideas, anyone? thanks!

I had the same issue, but then i remembered that i installed new update on Google maps and Go SmS messanger, so I started those aplication and they both needed to accept some license and chenge some settings. Immediatelly after I did that the Yahoo Mail was pushing again, so the other apps were somehow interfering with the Yahoo Mail, but once they were oppened everything was fine.

I also had this issue. After some monitoring, I found that the issue lies with the application's running services. Normally, when operating correctly, you'll see 2 services (push and mail sync). I noticed that when the application is not pushing, the mail sync service isn't there like it should be. The solution is to open the application (which immediately starts the mail sync service again). You should notice mail pushing correctly again for a while. I stopped using the application because it will periodically stop working and the only thing to do is to periodically open the app to start the mail sync service.

I've chosen to opt for Gmail, which has an option to pull other email accounts (via settings online). Using this, my sync is incredibly reliable.

thanks for your suggestions.

@boxroid i did have some updates around that time when yahoo stopped pushing emails. i tried your suggestion, open every single one of my downloaded apps (since i couldn't remember which ones had the updates since then) to make sure that nothing is blocking it from pushing email. that didn't work unfortunately.

@simba501 i checked my running services and both services of yahoo (push and mail sync) are running. however, it's not pushing only pulling when you open the app.

it's frustrating because i can't pinpoint where the problem lies. like i said, it's worked flawlessly before like the gmail app and all of a sudden it stopped pushing. tried uninstalling and installing and still no go.

i don't know if this has something to do with it but if i go to accounts & sync under settings, my gmail shows up on the manage accounts but not my yahoo even though it's set up correctly. when i try to add it, it will let me go through the process but it won't have that green sync icon even though my i'm signed in to my mailbox.
