Help Yahoo mail

I've read all the posts on the subject I think. I just got my Droid and love it but I can never get my Yahoo mail to work. I tried all the suggestions and always get wrong username/password.
My question is does it work or do you need a plus account. Or does it work at all??
 
You do not need the yahoo (plus) mail account.

Make sure your WIFI is OFF!

Imap server - imap.mail.yahoo.com port 143 I believe.

SMTP Server- smtp.mobile.mail.yahoo.com port 587 I believe.

This WILL work if you do this :)
 
The IMAP steps worked perfect... until about an hour ago for me, and now it is stopped. I went to the setup screen, and it gives me the username/password error that has been described on the other post.

I hope this is a short term glitch, and not a pissing contest. I prefer ymail to gmail... but not if I can't get it from my main device anymore.

Auto-forward your yahoo mail to a new gmail account. Set it up on your computer rather than the Droid. In the options for gmail, tell it to leave a copy on the server. On gmail, you can set it so it gives your yahool email as the sender. The net effect is that you can use gmail on your Droid (it is better integrated on the Droid than yahoo will ever be) and keep all your mail in yahoo at the same time.
 
YAHOO MAIL DOES SYNC TO DROID ERIS FOR FREE!!!

When I first got my phone, I forwarded my yahoo account to my new gmail account. After following all the instructions posted here to formally sync yahoo to mailbox, it wouldn't work. Spent hours in frustration, guys at store couldn't figure it out either. They told me I'd have to pay for POP account. NOT TRUE!! What worked for me is simply disabling the forward I had on my yahoo to gmail. Then I went back to mailbox manual set up and it worked!!!! FINALLY!!!!! Wahoo Yahoo!
 
my yahoo mail works on and off just randomly..

theres no way to forward free yahoo email to gmail unless you pay for it... that i could find
