Help Yargh!

I used to love my Droid. And before I get the smartass remark "use the search feature", I did. The results didn't help.
That said....
1 - How the hell do I get my speed back to my Droid? Its only gotten worse over time. I'll uninstall every freaking app at this point (thus taking away part of the use of the phone but whatever) if that's what it will take.

2 - HOW do you move things to the SD card?

I'm not a tech guru or phone junkie so please, by all means keep it simple. Thanks if anyone can help.

Oh, it's a first gen, if that's of any use info-wise.

To address your issues by number:

1. Before wiping your apps hit Menu then Settings->Applications->Running Services and see what is loaded up. Also how many widgets do you have loaded on your home screen and do you have a live wallpaper loaded. These will all show up in that menu. You can click on the services that are loaded and then hit "Stop" to stop the service.

If all else fails you can do a hard reset and it will restore it to the factory/like new settings but then you will have to reload all your apps.

2. To save things to your SD card you need to hit Menu->Settings->Applications->Manage Applications. Then hit each app and look on the right side for the button "Move to SD" or "Move to Phone". If the developer allows you to you can hit the button and it will move the app to your SD card. If it is not allowed then it will be grayed out. You also have to have version 2.2 or 2.2.1 (Froyo) on your phone.

Hope this helps.

For quickly identifying apps that can be moved to SD card, I like Quick System Info PRO (free in Market). It has more sorting options than stock Manage Applications.

Option I use for this is Install Location, with Descending sort order. Apps that can be moved are at top of list, with lowercase sd displayed to right of app name. sd is grayed out for apps still stored on phone (internal storage) and it's illuminated for apps that have been moved to SD card.

To move app, tap it on list, choose Manage, and then Move to SD card.

+1 on looking at Running Services to get a better idea of what's going on. My problem is, I see it, but I can't bring myself to part company with some favorite apps. Yet.

In recent weeks I've started cycling power every couple days, and this seems to help some.
