Help Yes! 2.1 update! please porfa help!

Hi good afternoon, my nickname is Little Crow and I need urgent help. Forgive but do not speak English very well, I'm from Argentina and I will do my best to make me understand.
I tell you that I purchased in the U.S. the GT540 Optimus LG, unlocked and new Argentine, for use inside.
Comes with Android OS 1.6 and wanted to know what I have to do to upgrade to version 2.1 and use it in Argentina without any problem. Pros and cons that I can get to be given from which the cell and where I'm going to use?
I hope answers, I'll be aware of them. I wish I could help, I'll be very happy if so.

The link you sent me, serves a GT540 LG usa unlocked and used in ARGENTINA? are you sure?
The ROM you mentioned above, it's official? sure will serve me?

Yap! Mine is an Australian GT540 (Unlocked) running Baltic 2.1 & I'm using it in Bangladesh... lolz ;)

The ROM is official & the Updater Software is not official... But, The unofficial Updater is recommened... :D

Don't worry, just do it cAreFuLLy! I did the same way I wrote.. :D

What is it root or or unrooted??

Sorry, Baltic ROM don't have Spanish.. No, you won't have problems, you just have to configure the Internet Settings Manually...

as you are new to Android forget the Root part for now.. Just update it to 2.1... Then take sometime to understand Android... Later you can root... :D

Download the KDZ Updater, install the Mxml Parser(given inside) & open it... You have to select those in KDZ Updater...

Thanks Nirob. I was exactly looking for the same thing as cuervito here.

I was about to update with the Baltic V2.1 ROM. I prefer the mobile in English but I didn't want to loose the spanish dictionaries for texting which are very useful. So I decided to look around and bumped into this.

I wish we could simply update with the LG Mobile update. Anyway I appreciate the help. And surely will continue to browse around the forum. I guess the Eclaire will be the last update for this particular phone? Or that's what I've read so far. No support for Froyo or Gingerbread for now.

LG had hectic time with 2.1 upgrade so I dont think they'll take teh risk of heading into Froyo or Gingerbread :D
 
Sorry for the delay, I bricked my phone so had to re-flash it (I was trying a Gingerbread Theme) :D

This is the Open Europe ROM, so it should have Spanish...

And why GT540 WON'T get anymore official updates:

GT540 has everything to run FroYo, but the problem is the processor... The processor is ARMv6, which can't handle flash... If LG has to update GT540 to 2.2, they'll have to remove Flash... Now, people won't accept 2.2 without Flash.. They'll keep shouting at the support & curse LG.. lolz :D Well, we won't have official update to 2.2, but we'll get unofficially... 2 guys are cooking a 2.2 ROM for GT540 based on Cyanogen MOD (In case you are wondering, it has Flash LITE instead of Flash) & it's in late beta stage! Yay! :D

And about 2.3, GT540 doesn't have the hardware to run Gingerbread...
