YES, you need a task killer app for the Eris. PERIOD.

LMAO! You need www.tinypic.com. It will let you attach those pictures bigger than a thumbnail. Just FYI. JIC.

better?

Yes! And BTW, I think I have a girl crush on OTD!
And I am very flattered.:)

Not for much longer. Glad I got off the east coast. Lousy snow. And I did use a task killer briefly and noticed worse battery life. I have found I dont need it and my phone does just fine.

Sadly it could never work between us nekoki.:( I am an easy cost girl and I love snow.

That and my girl would probably try to kill us both.;)

I find it amazing that on this page 4 of this thread which has 29 posts only one is on topic.

Get this thread back on track people or it will be closed.

TS out

And with that in mind I say that my phone doesn't have any lag issues and I don't need a task killer. I am curious about the number of apps that people have installed and/or running that makes feel the need for one though.

Wow 29. All kidding aside (sorry ts) I too am interested at the number of apps these guys that "need" task killers have.

I would like someone to do a serious test with a set number of apps, over the course of two weeks. Surely someone out there has nothing else better to do for 14 days.

back on topic. I use a task killer. After reading numerous (and that's an understatement) threads about tasks killers, I tried both. I found my phone functioned much better with one. But like many have said, it depends on the user. I like having a mini computer in my pocket, so I take advantage of all the perks this pretty piece of technology has to offer. I go from web, to sms, to camera, to music and apps, to gmail, ect... I found it started to lag much more without my task killer. (battery has always been - ugh, but I'm coming from BB)

I noticed no one has mentioned Task Panel, I've been using this since my prior run without a task killer. I'm liking it.

(btw, thanks to all for your useful tips on here, my phone wouldn't be this pretty piece of tech without ya) *points at OTD and caddyman*

awww this was like our bordom thread:p

We probably need to start one of those in the lounge because this thread is ALL about task killers an why people shouldn't tell others what to do with their phones. :D

@pandalee

She is hot, but I do not look all plastic like that.

I know!! Anytime you see a new thread about task killers or 2.x.???? you know you can count on irrelevant, silly posts.

on that note, my apologies in advance (or not so in advance) for tonight's ramblings. approx: 41 hours til superbowl. and 10 hours til this city gets crazy. Need to entertain myself. AND get my phone prepared for mayhem.

*heads off to the bar**

East Coast FTW(NJ represent),
Lucky U OTD snow is working its way right now

- btw, just wondering, has anyone started a thread on what we actually think she looks like? I mean East Coast Girls = Hot, Girls who like Technology = wayy hot, now if she drives a lifted V8 i would say she's not a real person, more of a figure of my imagination:D

I'm WAYY up in Jersey, It hasn't even started snowing yet. I heard from some friends at the shore that down there was a blizzard. My ERIS's weather widget says that snow is on the way!

Just for shits and giggles while I was in jury duty today I restarted my phone and did not use ATM. As usual, just about every app on the phone was running and it lagged like a TRS-80 running COD:MW2. I let it go for a couple hours to see if it improved but it did not. Bringing up People and clicking one to call seemed to take about 3.5 hours. So, I simply brought up ATM, shut down every app that I didn't need, and my phone is now running as crisp and lag free as an Atari 2600 running River Raid.

Yeah, it's anecdotal, but it's enough for me to know that my phone runs much better when I use a task killer to shut down apps I don't need.

*applauds*:p well put! Oh and loved the analogies:D.

I did use Astro to kill the browser today. It saved me a reboot. No need for automatic task killing here. My Eris runs fine.

I've been using task panel on hero and to be honest i hardly use it at all, I'm not saying i dont use it but I very much doubt its the most amazing thing in the world PERIOD.

I find turning my phone off once a day works better then a task killer. And since I've been restarting my phone daily by battery has almost doubled

If you like it use it.....BUT you can download aLogcat free from the market place and watch how the system frees up memory for itself....May change your outlook on running one....DID FOR ME!

Very cool (alogcat: android log viewer application).

That settles it. What a long thread; couldn't this have been posted sooner? ;)
