How much info does best buy require for a preorder of the evo?

Just a name and payment?

Do they need any account information? Will they look up the account at all for upgrade eligability?

guys just call your local best buy and ask to be connected to best buy mobile. Im sure they can answer all your questions.

I dont believe they are REQUIRED to look up the account. They may look it up in order to set the expectation of how much you are going to need to bring back in the store.

Should be just name, address, number and a 50 dollar payment.

Paid tax in CA on the $50 card, however they told me to bring my receipt in and the $4.35 in taxes will be applied to the cost of the phone.

Paid $50 even. The girl at the counter knew of a bug that was charging people tax, and knew how to get around it. The issue is supposed to be fixed by 5pm EST.

it's not a requirement to have them look up your account because you can buy the phone unsubsidized, but it doesn't hurt if you're curious about your upgrade eligibility.
