Help Yikes! my text msgs are repeating 3 times

Everyone is receiving every text msg 3 times in a row. Why would it be doing that and what is the fix? I just texted my work phone and sure enough I typed in test and it repeated itself 2 more times. Any ideas?
 
Handcent or stock?

If Handcent, uninstall and reinstall. Happened to me, did this.

For awhile I thought it had something to do with 4g being flaky because it was happening when 4g was really a mess near me. My son's TB is forced onto 3g because he doesn't want to root, and he didn't have the tripling problem.

stock! and i rebooted and it is still doing it
 
I have had this problem too off and on. When you sent those texts, were you in a bad coverage area?

I only ask this because it only happens to me when I am sending texts from work or if I'm at my mom's house. At both of those locations I get horrible reception and messages say that they don't go through but then end up sending 3 times.

When I have solid reception, this never happens. I can say that with confidence because my gf will tell me when it happens and it's always when I have poor reception.

I think that's the problem, but maybe you are experiencing a different issue.

Well i never have more than one bar no matter where I am. My friend has a droid x and he gets 4 bars in the same spot so the coverage must be ok. This just started and i text from here all the time.
 
I'd take it to verizon if handcent wont work with the option to try to prevent this. Sounds like coverage problem.

I would actually not even worry about handcent and just take it back though..
