YMail for Android 2.0

Has anyone found a work around to get Ymail sync'd with Android 2.0? I was at the verizon store buying a case last night for my droid and the tech support guy said he got an email on how to get ymail to work, but he hasn't had time to read it. Anyone know?

The only way I was able to get my wife's YMail to sync was to buy the "Plus" subscription for $20/year. Even then it's only POP3 (no IMAP) :(

Yahoo better get their crap together an make YMail actually usable. No wonder they are loosing share to Google.

I've heard alot of people with Problems with their yahoo mail ,

Mine was perfectly fine on my HTC Magic , If you want the settings just write what you need and Let me fill in the blanks if I can. In the meantime why not set your Gmail to fetch your Yahoomail {or any other}.

This way your yahoo still gets delivered straight to the phone and if I'm correct {possibly wrong} when you reply to one that was fetched the "from field " still says it come from your Yahoo :)

This is how i did it earlier today. It will only work with Wifi off. Once you get it working and later were to turn Wifi on, and then open the yahoo email it will say, "invalid username or password." Then you get to set it all up again. it sucks but if you can do without Wifi until a better solution comes around you can save some money and not buy the PLus Yahoo.

Make sure Wifi is off. Reboot the phone.

go to mail icon
add account
enter email address in email address filed (name@yahoo.com)
enter password at password field
select MANUAL SETUP not next
select imap
username= name@yahoo.com
password = yourpassword
imap server= imap.mail.yahoo.com
port=143
security=none
optional = blank
select next

you will then be prompted to sign in do so.

will then be taken to the smptp settings which only prompts (going form memory) you for address which is smtp.mobile.mail.yahoo.com. leave the port as is. then select next. sign in. name your account and that's it.

@ Droid_Junky -> thx for the info. mail worked out just great. I'm still not able to get into ymail tho. I tried to replace yahoo with ymail -but that didnt work lol!! any thoughts?

What do you guys use for the outgoing mail server Smtp? It won't work for me and I'm wondering if its because my email is ymail.com and not yahoo.com. any suggestions?

Sorry. Not sure about ymail. That was the first I had heard of it. I did a quick search but the site doesn't explain too much. If i find something I will let you know.

Just curious - has anyone sovled the ymail issue? Will it work with the Droid?

Yes it will...Mine didnt work but there is a thread somewhere on here that gives you the IMAP settings that i used and it worked. Did you try the IMAP settings that were posted just a few posts up on this thread?

I tried the iMap setting and it worked at first. Now it hasn't download an email since yesterday. Anybody having the same issue?

It is my understanding that the December update will fix the Yahoo Mail issue.

I believe this is a non-issue. The only issue is that Android does not know how to correctly set it up. I did a quick Google for "yahoo mail on Android" and found a fix that works perfectly, never had any issues.

The IMAP settings I have seen on the forum are for setting up yahoo mail not ymail. There is a difference because if you use these settings yahoo will work but now ymail. Also, if you change the references from yahoo to ymail that will not work either.

Has anyone been able to get ymail (not yahoo) to work?
