I definitely plan on rooting some time, just to squeeze every bit of performance I can out of the phone. But it is so fast right now, I'm in no rush at all. Plus, I want to wait for a couple revisions of the root to go through so most of the bugs are fixed by the time I start using it.

If I root I will lose warranty, so...no.

I heard that you can always revert it back to stock.

But what happens if something in the phone breaks and I can't revert it...

IF the phone lasts more than 1,5 years with me, I will root it :)

I rooted for Titanium Backup and AdFree, but also got rid of the VZW ongoing wifi notification, added a wifi toggle to the notification bar, got rid of the location services icon, added Google Wallet, and added Beats Audio. I'll probably upgrade to Jelly Bean in the not-too-distant future.

If it breaks to the point that you can't unroot it, nobody else will be able to tell that it is rooted without some serious work. ;)

Being a N00b I'm still in the process to understand the root/unroot guide and other things. Will root once am done learning the need to know.

"That's not a root issue. Others have that issue on non-rooted phones."

YLEXOT was RIGHT!

Found the problem........it was not a root problem.

My bad and my opology.

Don't piss off the rooters :D:D.

"That's not a root issue. Others have that issue on non-rooted phones."

I did not have the issue until I ROOTED. So it is a problem in the rooted rom. I have had the phone for 2 weeks and did not have the issue until rooting. Makes no sense other than the ROM being used for the root is faulty.

Not trying to argue, just letting those that are on the fence to root or not to root to weigh all the facts.

:fight:

Not compelled to like I was with previous devices. ICS allows the ability to disable certain resource hoggers and that was the main reason I would root.

Perhaps to get USB host support I would, but that is about it. Well, that and if Flash were to only work with a rooted device. Flash still has a few years of prolific life, in spite of Adobe's ironic actions.

What else other than input devices, flash memory, Mechanical Hard drives is there?

Everything I have read states only input devices work (KB, mice, etc). No read/write for files or permissions for media playback- hence no apparent external storage support with stock, via the USB port.

Not correct?

BTW, this thread placed in this forum seems self-defeating here, since if a person has no intent on rooting, they would probably not come to a root forum in the first place. The premise of the thread is if you are going to or not. Seems logical to be where the thread originally was.

Yeah I PM'd the guide as soon as it was moved. It's being discussed with a mod apparently.
