So, you got a new GS3. Any plans to root, or not? Any why, or why not?

Clear the counter.Already rooted and wish I had not.
Few problems getting it rooted and my count is at 3.
That's not a root issue. Others have that issue on non-rooted phones. Now some email and messaging problems, so I regret rooting.
If it breaks to the point that you can't unroot it, nobody else will be able to tell that it is rooted without some serious work.If I root I will lose warranty, so...no.
I heard that you can always revert it back to stock.
But what happens if something in the phone breaks and I can't revert it...
IF the phone lasts more than 1,5 years with me, I will root it![]()

I did not have the issue until I ROOTED. So it is a problem in the rooted rom. I have had the phone for 2 weeks and did not have the issue until rooting. Makes no sense other than the ROM being used for the root is faulty.
Not trying to argue, just letting those that are on the fence to root or not to root to weigh all the facts.
:fight:
USB host is by default. Thats why there is an OTG cable.

What else other than input devices, flash memory, Mechanical Hard drives is there?
+1BTW, this thread placed in this forum seems self-defeating here, since if a person has no intent on rooting, they would probably not come to a root forum in the first place.
The premise of the thread is if you are going to or not. Seems logical to be where the thread originally was.
Everything I have read states only input devices work (KB, mice, etc). No read/write for files or permissions for media playback- hence no apparent external storage support with stock, via the USB port.
Not correct?
