Help Your device status has been modified

I have recently bought Samsung Tab 4
I installed Sam Info to check it
Refurbishment Status:Your device has been modified.
Is that Okay ?

That means it's either been rooted or had non-stock firmware installed. As long as it's working, it should be okay, but you'll not get any official updates from Samsung anymore (which may be a good thing ;) )

The tab status was modified(the firmware has been modified) by SAM Info app when I was on the Store.
But after that , when I came home and again check it.
It says your device is original.
How's that ?
I m confused.
Is there any other way to check wether the phone is modified or not ?

Aside from contacting Samsung, I'm not sure of a way aside from the Samsung Info App you're using. I assume it's this one:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.vndnguyen.phoneinfo&hl=en

If so, that is a very handy app, I have used it also. Though I didn't ever notice the option to check refurb status. I'm not sure what the app checks to get that info to be honest but perhaps a false positive is possible and maybe that's what you've seen with your device.

Under the Phone Info main menu, General sub menu, check "Knox Warranty Void" status. It should say 0x0. If that is the case, and if subsequent refurb checks show the device is original, I'd say you're fine and just got tripped up on a false positive. Remember that's not a sanctioned Samsung app. It's a guy who made the app as a helpful (yet unofficial) tool.

Just checked on my Tab 4 and the Knox warranty bit says "not found". Mine is the B&N Nook version and has never been rooted or modified.

This is what I found on my Note 4

It says 0x1 & yes I have rooted that device.

But what it shows : 0×1 ? Can it be 0×2 ? Or 0×3 ? Or so on or Not ?

Thank you

It is more difficult to see if a device has been modified, if it is returned to stock.
I gave KNOX 10 out of 10 for securing data but 1 out of 10 if you want to modify your device

Yes.
Is KNOX in collbaration with Blackberry ?
Can we identify wether the device is modified or not in Downoad mode ?

For your average user Knox is only seen (if they even know about it) as a deterrent to rooting or flashing custom firmware. However, for some, it is a way to verify their security has not been compromised by disabling or bypassing things like encryption which is necessary in some industries. It used to be that Android devices were not permitted to be used in some enterprises (financial, military, government, for example) that required a certain level of security and were subject to periodic audits to prove such. Knox provided a way to ensure the device was unmodified and therefore in compliance with certain regulations.

I can't say i like or dislike it. It does provide something that wasn't available before but it adds layers of complexity for the rest of us.

I do believe that knox includes a "fryable" circuit that once fried, is permanent. Prior to knox, it was possible to reset the counter using a USB jig, but I'm pretty sure the Tab 4 is going to be a knox enabled device.
Yes , I have heard that it was possible to reset the Binary Counter on Samsung Galaxy S3
But as you mentioned it was possible before KNOX
Well, Thank you
