Your Evo So Far

It's definitely leaps and bounds beyond the Hero. A friend has it and lets me play with it on occasion. The newer/better Android is a big part of that, along with the hardware, which is near top of the line.

Well I got my EVO yesterday and I'm a believer. This thing ROCKS compared to my old Hero. Faster and better in every way. A little larger but I'll deal with that, I was just sick and tired of the incredible laggyness of the Hero and no matter what I did it would eventually become laggy again.

Welcome to the Evo family dude! One thing about he laggyness you wanna do is tell your text messaging app (whichever you use) to only keep like 200 at a time. Otherwise it'll lag from constantly having all those texts in memory.

Also I highly recommend rooting to get SetCPU. It's nice to tell it to slow down when the screen is off and to be super fast when it's on. Feels so quick!

I may eventually Root it but right now I'm just enjoying it and loving how fast it is and so far no glitches. My Hero had me so frustrated at time I just wanted to destroy it. I had finally reached my patience limit with it and bought the EVO. The Hero is For Sale!! :)

I just rooted mine to not only get rid of bloatware but to use SetCPU to extend my battery and use Titanium Backup, and so far it's been fantastic. That's apparently just the tip of the iceberg.

I'm hooked since Friday 0937hrs when it got delivered to my door!
Stay up all night playing with it while my girls talks under her breathe lol!
I love it that she hates my my new baby!

josiegirl.. welcome to the forum..

you had the moment.... but this is your first time here???

why not the EPIC?.. logical next step...

I have had my evo for 5 months, and overall have been very pleased, however, I have noticed now, it gets very warm after long continuous use, such as playing 3d games like homerunbattle 3d, sometimes when it gets very warm, it just reboots, I took it to sprint 2 weeks ago, and he said they needed to do a hard reset, and that software might have had some malfunction or something, now I just monitor my use with the phone

Epic is logically not the next step IMO. I had the moment for a year and wanted out of the Samsung family for a bit. (that phone and support for it from Samsung were horrible)

yes.. for you...

but some were happy with the moment... josiegirl did not say she was unhappy with it.

Before the Moment, I had a Blackberry which I loved. Then I got the Moment and I loved that too. However, I hate the thickness of it and the slideout keyboard is horrible.

I've played a little bit with the EVO and am really excited to get it. I'm not going to lie...that big screen is mesmerizing and very appealing. I like to read on my phone with the Kindle app so the large screen will be nice.

My whole family has Moments and my son swears I'm going to hate the touch screen keyboard. We'll see. If I don't like it, I can always take it back. :)
