Sprint jumps over 5% on earnings report for the quarter.
Their prepay brand VM adds over 800000 subscribers.
This is the biggest jump in the VM brand for 5 years.

Think we had something to do with this? LOL!

Trust me Verizon and AT&T are taking notice, expect more plans like this soon.

Its just going to add to tower load, and slower speeds most likely.

Why do you think VM had so many data issues at the launch?

but still a good overall buy.

As the service gets better I expect them (VM and Boost) to add more customers. As it is right now the thing that keeps alot of people on the big carriers is the high end phones like the Iphone and the like. If the prepaid carriers started offering high end phones there would be no reason to sign that 2yr contract would there? It would be nice if VM and Boost would start offering mid level phones.

For me that contract isnt worth the extra cost to get a phone that is effectively less than an inch larger.

I returned my ATT Inspire (which was a REALLY nice phone).......
I told ATT to stick it with their FAKE 4G, and promised upgrades which aren't happening, and their 2GB cap...

The Optimus is plenty for the $119 I paid for it. and I'm not stuck in some 2 yr contract.

I noticed TODAY in BESTBUY, VM has a new phone . . . The RESCUE I think it was called. $169. It boasts 3G on the front of the box. Not sure it was an Android though.

*****************CORRECTION************** Its a Samsung Restore, and Bestbuy must have had the wrong tag on the peg hook. Its $74.99, its NOT an Android.

Of course this phone's a winner.. It's a decent smartphone that's not hobbled, that's not too expensive to run... I'll be saving about 800 a year with 2 lines.. We'll see how much I love it in a few weeks but so far.. it's awesome.

I have 3 lines and am saving $75/month over Verizon Family.

We have more minutes, everyone has text and data. If I had that with VZ it would have cost more than $200 a month.

So I guess I'm saving $125 a month :)

last year march
started 2 new lines and got a sprint hero and samsung moment around 250 300
monthly bills for everything data $155 to $165
final bill with early termination fee 212 in december
total kinda around 1500 dollars (9 months)

this year
optimus v $165
monthly bill $25
total $240
total after 9 months $390

That's around a $1200 dollar difference for the exact same service except I don't have 1500 minutes talk time ( I barely hit 200). Also now have a better phone.

Nice to see this kind of obvious reason to dump the ridicules fees by the big telco's.

There should be no reason in the world to pay that kind of money for something as trivial as mobile access.

Fosho...and just wait...soon VM will be offering faster smartphones, so they can stay ahead of the game....there competition is watching, and soon they will lower their monthly fees, and thats when VM will come out with faster phones to keep getting new customers....but thats just my thoughts...lol i love this damn phone...good job VM.
