Youtube 4k option?

Well there was a video released by Samsung regarding a 4k video shot by Note 4.
Went into youtube to watch it and went into settings and I don't see 4k any more. Just 720p as the highest

What does youtube quality settings show for you?
 
I don't think youtube has a true 4k video support for mobile the highest I have seen on my G3 is 1080P

 
on my macbook pro retina I only seen a 2k video but then again all mbp are only 2880x1800 resolution
 
When LG G3 was released, there was an update to youtube to show 1440 resolution videos.. Now it has been taken off it in the last update looks like it..

I concur.. They looked amazing when you played 4k vids.. Now you can only play stuff at 720p.. Pants.. What are we? IPhone user's.... 😳
 
As I mentioned in another post, http://androidforums.com/lg-g3/872811-youtube-netflix-resolution-problems-lg-g3.html, I was having trouble with 1080p and 1440p videos not playing. (they would play like 2 seconds and then stop and just play audio). My guess is youtube/lg must have had a lot of reports of this.

Now the highest choice available is 720p, it seems. Still it's ridiculous that 720p is the highest resolution youtube offers on the lg g3 now. Hopefully this is only temporary. I've yet to actually see any 1440p or even 1080p video, other than I what I've recorded with the camera myself.
 
does anyone from you contacted google and asked for 1440p? or just talking here and waiting for update? I have send them several feedback requests.
finally, last night I had update to YouTube app (version 6.0.13) and now I can watch 1440p quality on my LG G3.
you can`t watch 4K (2160p) on LG G3. "just" 2K (1440p)

Probably because the G3 doesnt have a 4k screen. :rolleyes:
 
Yea it seems Strenki is right. My G3 for the first time since I got it can finally play 2k/1440p videos on youtube with version 6.0.13 without problems. Let's hope google can keep it working this time.
