Youtube app slows phone down?

Every time I watch a video with the YouTube app, my phone slows down after I exit it. Has this happened to anyone else? I'm going to uninstall and then download the app again from the Android market, to see if this problem persists.

interesting topic jr. From what i seen on youtube and in here nobody has had this issue except on your case friend. had you tried giving Metro a call? or stop by one of their stores?

open application manager in your app drawer and see how many apps are running and how much ram is being used, you can kill them all and it will return to its speed. Alot of apps that you think you close be exiting them, some will still be running, that just how android OS works.

Huawei Mercury --Because YouTube really does slow my android down, I never use YT anymore EVER! Been looking for solutions a long time with no success. This is the first I have found that YT is causing the problem. After watching 3 to 4 videos nearly everything isn't working like before. Yes, I clean all the cookies & others like I should...doesn't help speed it back up like it was before. It gets so bad that I am forced to hard reset, and "ta da" my Huawei is great again! However, it just isn't worth that reset.

Don't have that issue.. but like nuttmeg said, check for excessive running apps.. good app to have is fast reboot.. basically simulates a reboot without actually rebooting

This happens to my phone when I use anything that accesses the camera (ie; Instagram). I have to completely reboot my phone, and not even killing tasks work.

I have a problem with the new youtube update. I downloaded the new one and the video clips load but don't play. Anyone else having this issue?

Well I couldn't even get on YouTube after updating. Every time I tried it force closed so I ended up uninstalling the update and everything is working fine now.

There are a lot of complaints about that update by the way. Don't know if it's the same for the Esteem but apparently you can't watch videos in hd anymore.

Well I did energy to make it work but no dice. So I ended up uninstalling the update.. Weird that today I decided to update and it worked.
