YouTube hates me :(

I cannot get CNN videos to play at all and it is pissing me off ! My Treo 755P had more video capability . Who is to blame here and are there any workarounds?
 
I wish,,, seems to be an issue with the HERO and no one seems to know what the answer is... lets hope it is all sorted with the 2.1 update,, if THAT ever happens....
 
i'm almost ready to go return this phone!!...if they don't fix this any time soon!!....i mean they already know it's happening i'm sure they know what the problem is by now...it's been almost 3 weeks!!!.....
 
I have the Sprint Hero and I have low success rate on watching videos via the youtube app. Also my co-worker has the Moto Droid and he is having the same issue with the youtube app.
 
I went to the sprint store today to complain about the issue and they checked their system and supposedly there is no known issue. I asked her and another guy who work there who carry hero's to try their youtube and one girl did and it did the same thing. The other guy said to be honest I know mine has not been working. They tinkered with my phone behind the guru desk and gave it back and said, nothing we can do. Do you want a refurb.... I said I paid for a new phone, not a refurb so no thanks
 
I'm having this problem also with my unlocked HTC hero on 3g rogers network.
Any idea what's going on with this.
I'm not using custom modaco Rom or should I be.

Same thing for me at first only some would say that but know theyy all do with the YouTube app then my girlfriend makes fun of me Cus her iPhone has no problems like my hero :confused:
 
Videos are a hit or miss for me as well.. but I am used to this as my BB did the same thing... I just keep clicking on the same video and when i get the error, click ok, and load it.. probably takes 5-8 tries before the video plays.

OR, when I click a video and it plays the first time, i will try it in high quality and it will not play again,. then repeat steps above and then it finally works...

Alright guys... this helped me out quite a bit which is wack.
"Regional Settings" - videos wont work if its out of your region or something like that.

I tried to search for videos within my location etc... and videos worked no problem.

Let me know if this helps or not.

I did a test here with my 9700 bold and my HTC hero.
Search for "Whatever baby" in youtube.

Bold - can play it no problem
HTC hero - can't play the video

What's up with that?
Is there something I'm missing here?

i did test this on a few more videos etc...
Basically at the end BOLD 9700 was able to play way way more youtube videos than the hero.
 
this is mind blowing... its working perfectly fine now...
didn't change anything at all other than logging in to my youtube account.

hopefully it will last for awhile.
 
I emailed htc from their support site and the reply i got was to either do a hard reset or just wait for 2.1 to come in the first quarter of 2010. I elected not to try the hard reset and just wait. dolphin lets me download and the quality is stunning. Everything is so much nicer than my old instinct!

This is major BS. Those HTC monkeys can't fix shit. If you keep trying to play the same video, eventually it will work, but that would be 2 out of 30 times. AND I DON'T KNOW ABOUT YOU GUYS, BUT MY NETWORK GOES DOWN OCCASIONALLY WITHOUT KNOWING ABOUT IT WHICH MEAN THAT, PEOPLE CALLING ME WILL THINK MY PHONE IS SWITCHED OFF. THEN I GOTTA SWITCH TO FLY MODE AND BACK, WHICH IS FASTER THAN RESTARTING THE FRIGGIN' PHONE.

i live in taiwan - youtube doesn't work - but i discovered Vimeo works! - so at least there seems to be some alternative.

i connected on my 3g network.
