Root Z4root question

I was wondering if I use z4root to get the wireless tethering and when android 2.2 gets ready to come out I can unroot and get the ota for android 2.2? U don't get the updates if you are rooted correct? Has anyone used this app for the epic? I read some reviews on the market and saw people said it worked great for the epic.

I'd imagine it's more "You wouldn't want to get updates" while you're rooted. And since Sprint charges for you to tether wirelessly, they would disable the feature in Froyo.
