well i tried it and followed the directions posed on this forum but it almost bricked my phone i only had trouble getting s-off or s on whichever one u need to unrootYou don't need it. Use unrevoked.
how did you almost brick???? i don't get that. you either brick or you don't there's no almost.
Judging by this thread, maybe rooting isn't for you. Z4 won't work with our phone from what I understand. Stick with Unrevoked; couldn't be easier.
yea i atttempted to use unrevoked but i had trouble and i really wanna unroot my phone now its getting really annoying like before i tried it only thing was that i didnt know how to get s on and when i attempted to i almost bricked my phone like it wasnt turning on so i had to take the battery out . i regret rooting my phone all i wanna do is unroot but im having so much trouble
when your phone wasn't turning on, your probably just entered diagnostic mode (nowhere near a brick, just scary, when you don't know what it is)
What problems are you having when trying to unroot? Have you tried the steps outlined in this thread?

yeah, that's diagnostic mode which is unlocked when you have s-off, nothing to worry about, easy fix is just pulling the battery which you found out.the phone vibrated like 3 times and then didnt do anything?
o thank you so much so to get s on i have to put the file into the root of my sd card then go into hboot(which i didnt last time cause i instead hit power up) then go to the zip file then it will turn s on then what will happen?yeah, that's diagnostic mode which is unlocked when you have s-off, nothing to worry about, easy fix is just pulling the battery which you found out.
You got into it by holding volume UP instead of DOWN when pressing power. Just be more aware of where your finger is, I generally press and hold volume down first, then press and hold volume till the Hboot screen comes up.
o ok i understand that but after s on is flashed how does that phone look? will it look completetly normal and then i just put the 2.2 file on the sd card and then go through hboot?the s-on file is flashed through clockwork recovery, which you get to by going into hboot by doing the steps above and selecting recovery using the volume down key and pressing power when recovery is highlighted. Then after s-on is flashed you can flash the PB31IMG.zip file for 2.2 through Hboot, then you are 100% stock.
yeah, you won't notice any difference in the way phone looks or operates, you are just turning the security back on (keeps from flashing unauthorized roms/files and other system changes).o ok i understand that but after s on is flashed how does that phone look? will it look completetly normal and then i just put the 2.2 file on the sd card and then go through hboot?

Yes then you would put the 2.2 file on the root (not in any folders) of your sd card. The file has to be named exactly PB31IMG.zip and your sd card has to be formatted to FAT32. Boot into hboot, the phone will see the file on your phone automatically and ask if you want to apply the update by pressing volume up. You will see a blue progress bar on the right side of the screen fill up, your phone will reboot and start applying the update, Takes between 10-15 minutes to finish.
When in Hboot at the top left of your screen, you will see where it says, "s-off" or "s-on"
s-on won't download from hboot. H-boot and clockwork recovery are two different things. You get into clockwork recovery through H-boot. Clockwork recovery is a black screen with green text. That is where you load the s-on file from.
When in clockwork, you would select, "install zip from sdcard" then "choose zip from sdcard" then find your s-on file.
Alternatively if you have "ROM manager" on your phone, there is an option in there that says "reboot into recovery" or can choose the option that says "install rom from sd card" and you would just choose your s-on file
i'm pretty sure it won't reboot, you just get a message saying it's been applied in clockwork. Then you can go ahead and do all the 2.2 stuff. But you definitely want to check to make sure your phone is s-on first. When you are in the h-boot screen, look at the top left corner, it should say "INCREDIBLE XC SHIP S-ON"
no, it won't go back to hboot by itself, you can either pull the battery, or select the option in clockwork to reboot your phone. Then after it boots, copy the 2.2 file to the root of your sd card. Turn your phone off and boot into h-boot (check to make sure you are s-on) and apply the update. If you aren't s-on, don't do the update.so after s-on is turned on it will go back to the hboot screen then from there i reboot? sorry for all the questions i just really wanna know what im doing and im a total noob haha
