Zagg Invisible Shield Installation

so you guys are seeing the zagg shield for the Inc in stock at BestBuy??

Yeah bought mine@ bb ghost armor lady installed it for $5
she left a speck of dust near home button though. Still a slight orange peel to it but not to bad.

I installed mine and there are bubbles everywhere. It's sticky not smooth. So let me get straight, I paid $10.50 with discount at zagg, spent 20 mins trying to put this, now it doesn't work and I need to buy another one at best buy plus the installation? How much this is going to cost altogether? What do I have to do to get replacement at zagg?

That's exactly what I did...It costs $3.95 for replacement.

If you get it installed at BB, it's guaranteed for the life of the phone. Just go in anytime and they will put on a new one.

I read that you need to send ZAGG the original shield to get a replacement?

It seems awfully difficult to get this thing out of the phone.

I put mine on for about 2 minutes. It looked good minus the orange peel (minor, but noticeable). I dried it off with the microfiber towel that was included and somehow, the microfiber lost a partible and it stuck to the shield. I tried my best to remove the tiny speck of black. I ended up ripping it off in a rage.

So, IMHO, ZAGG sucks. I ordered before the phone, was told by the president via email it would get there before the phone. They lied. You live you learn.

Good luck with your install though. I hope it works out for you!

I have to say I had pretty good luck putting mine on last night. Took one try. I did have to soak down the shield pretty good with the sponge. I felt queezy when I started to slide the card down the screen and all that liquid started oozing out the sides.

Checking back today, no big bubbles and the micro bubbles are just about gone. The only problem is that I have a slight line going across the shield where I guess I scraped the card to hard.

I do have to admit that it feels sticky when I am sliding through menus and I really notice it when I am using SWYPE. Does this go away after some use? Does it smooth out?

My Zagg ripped, so I just decided to eat the 10 bucks...

I'm confused. Where did you pay $3.95 to get a replacement? Best Buy? or Zagg?

To only pay $3.95 for replacement and $7.99 for installation, sounds like a sweet deal for me. I would end up paying like $20-$22 for the whole thing.

It's the same thing for ZAGG, if it's only $3.95 for replacement, but what kills it is to wait another week for me to get it, and then go to best buy to have it installed.

I am assuming Best Buy removes the old shield for free to install the new one.

(By the way, It's not yet 24 hours after I installed it, I put it yesterday around 11:30pm, and this is my girlfriend's phone, she likes it better now, because she says she can feel better the phone when she uses it. Before for her it was "too smooth" for her fingers"

I told her it's supposed to be that way. Maybe not that smooth now with ZAGG, but I touch phone with one finger and when I remove it, I feel this stickiness coming out.

Unless of course, it's supposed to be that way with this shield.

Take your time, make sure your device is 1000% clean, and do it in as dust free environment as possible.

I heard they're not coming with the spray anymore, just a sponge. Is this true?

Mine came with sponge.

I spent $17 on 2 of these screen covers on recommendations from others. The WORST investment that I've ever made. I ended up throwing BOTH away. Whose idea is it to put WATER on my new phone? EPIC FAIL. I regret spending the 10 min putting those on my phones (BOTH OF THEM) and the money lost.

Yeah, I was pretty disgusted mine got scuffed so easily just trying to pull off a little bit of lint. I also felt a little sick putting all that liquid on my phone.

You can send it back, but they say it's not warrantied against installation fails.. you have to lie and tell them your phone needed repairs, so you need a new one. Then you have to mail the old one back. I wish Steinheil would hurry up!

...well, not spraying directly on the phone, just a mist on both sides of the shield. the mist allows you to put the shield on your phone to adjust/slide it. i agree...just making the point of why you do it. [love mine, btw, so i am biased]

Got mine today. It was a better setup than the last one I got for the Eris. This one had a spray bottle and a rubber (better) squeegee. Went on perfect and I left it out in the car for a few hours to bake in. Just requires a little care and patience to install it, and a little more to wait on it to dry completely. The "orange peel" everyone speaks of has no affect on viewing the screen. It's absolutely nothing to be concerned over.

I purchased one because I had a 50% off code. I finally got it today after ordering like 2 weeks ago. The thing already had some mild damage to the front of it that is annoyingly noticeable when the phone is displaying white colors. Mine came with a sponge that fell apart and stuck to the protector while I was applying solution. The sticky feeling is very annoying even though I have worked a lot of oil from my fingers into the protector. I will be returning it whenever a better product comes out. Until the, I'll deal with it and protect my screen.

I applied mine last night but the super glossy orange peel look freaked me out so I removed it. If it was just glossy without the orange peel look I would have kept it on.

Will BB install any other screen protectors for your phone if you bring it into them?

Also what department installs the shield? Mobil or Geek Squad?

I know they install them for around $7 bucks. Not sure if you had to have bought the item there or not. I'm pretty sure it's done by the geeks.

just take it to the mobile department.. i bought my invisible shield from the online store(not BB) and had it put on by this guys from BB.. He Didnt do right the first time and took a new Shield from the store...

Now im in the drying process...we'll see how it looks tomorrow.

Like I posted in a few other threads. Just went to BB today to have them do it and it came out great.

He told me to let it sit for a few hours before putting the case back on. So I wonder if just 3-4 hours will be alright. I am almost afraid to use it right now since it is fresh.
