Zenithink ZT-180 - New Firmware thread

It was one of the good ones BUT outdated Now... Latest released/stable is 1204 based on beta 1126 which was a winner... the 1220 2.2 Beta is a great start but not yet ready for prime time for all and not yet the big win one might expect from 2.2... check out the ZT180 section on Slatedroid for comments on all of these releases...

Wanted to add, as of 1126 and later you need to use a NEW burntool with 32bit Windows Once... After that upgrades can be done from files placed on you sdcard...

Hello ! I am new to this forum and hoping that there are others who have a Zenithink ZT-180 and can help or share their expertise with me.

I have been reading through this android forum for quite a while now as I have a android phone. I have just recently bought a android tablet. This is a great forum with a great amount of information.

My story is long so I will try to be as brief as possible.

I have a Zenithink Z-180 that I purchased from Zenithink.us. The wifi does not work on the tablet. At this time I am having some difficulty getting technical support from them as their USA website is down so I cannot use it. They have given me links to rar files on a Chinese website (that I of course cannot read, I need English) (I did not post those links to this site as was not sure if it was proper to do so in the forum or not )

They said that I need to download the update for firmware 1204, and update the firmware.

I did manage to get a file there called epad_0117.rar file (I do not know if it is Chinese or English).

But I do not have nor can I find any USB drivers. When I connect to my computer, my computer tells me I need USB drivers to use to flash the tablet. I have Vista Home 32 bit on my computer.

Do you know of anywhere that I could find and download the USB drivers to use to do the firmware update to 1204 on my Zenithink ZT-180? I have done searching on the internet but have not had very much luck.

My tablet is the Android 2.1, 256 mb and I am told the tablet has firmware 1030.

I am told that this firmware 1204 will get the wifi working. That has been my objective in all of this is to get the wifi working (as it does not) so I can use the tablet for the internet which is why I purchased it in the first place.

I really like the tablet, but it is not much good to me if I cannot use it as I planned to for the internet.

If anyone has any ideas or information your expertise is greatly appreciated.

www.zenithink.com Under News Click on Software and download the 2 files. They have instructions on how to do the update and what you will need. Make sure you do not lose power or disrupt the installation.

I am new to this so I hope I am asking the correct person. When I go to zenithink.com, news and software, it is all in Chinese? Should I proceed anyway?
 
Hi everyone,im new to this forum but was looking for some help if possible.I have a zt180 2.1 256mb and after powering on will not get past the green android man stage.someone has told me i have to update the software and flash the rom.being a non techy person could anyone point me in the right direction please.many thanks.

I got this firmware from this link however it does not have the USB driver for windows XP to recognize the device once attached to the usb port of the computer. Does anyone know where to get this driver? Zenithink.us has been completely useless in assistance with their product. All the other links I find only have the firmware and instructions to update via the TF card which this tablet for some reason will not do. I want to update the firmware so that my google market will actually work.

Any help is appreciated.

I finally found a usb driver, however windows only recognizes the tablet as long as the tablet is already powered on and not in the firmware mode. If I place the tablet in firmware mode windows will not accept the usb driver and I never get a green light in the burn tool.

Finally got it going, had to search for bulksec.inf and bulksec.sys an download them separately since none of the burntool downloads I found had those with it. Once I got those two files I was able to get Xp to see the device an the state in burntool went green light. I than held my breath and click start. Now running android 2.2 and market is working!

I have upgraded my Zenithink to Android 2.2 and it works well :), but I just saw that Zenithink posted a firmware upgrade on their site this week? Does anyone know which version of upgrade this is? Are there multiple 2.2 upgrades available?

Hallo I need help. I have 7 inch UPAD with 256mb ram and 2GB nand flash.Can I upgrade with official zenithink 7 inch upad rom.I ask because my upad has 2GB nand flash.Usually UPAD 7 inch had 4GB or the nand flash memory doesn't do any difference with the flashing process . Thanks.

New here, and wondering.. I just got this pad about a month ago, and got Flash working on it as well.
I however have Build number zt180-eng AOSP OPENMASTER eng.root.20110730.120935 test-keys
is this the newest build?
Kernel 2.6.32.9
Android 2.2
 
Hello, I spend ages figuring out how to update my tablet only to find that once it had updated that I have lost all my previous apps and in particular I have lost the android market. The epad is no longer working for me as it did, can I get the market place back?? If not can I uninstall the firmware update?
 
I have the Zenithink C-71 7" tablet. I'm tying to update the firmware but can't figure out which buttons to push to load the file. It keeps telling me to press a key and there is no key to press. What can I do?

Good morning everyone i have a question regarding my tablet. its a zenithink model no ZTICS android Version 4.0.3, Kernel version 2.6.34
when i first got it a few weeks ago it used to play flash sites, then suddenly it stopped playing them and i dont remember doing or installing anything at the time to make it change. i have installed and uninstalled flash many times and checked the settings i could think of . today i decided to reset the tablet hopeing to get it to work again but even that did not do the trick. i wouldnt mind so much if it never worked in the first place but to have i working and now its gone is really anoying. does any one have any ideas on how to solve this
 
I recently received word that ZeniThink ZT-180 now has an android 4.0 ice cream sandwich firmware. I want this new firmware (sorry, flash 10.1 sucks!!!) but where the heck do I get it from??? Does anyone know? Its not on their web site and if they are selling these tablets with android 4 on them, they should be obligated to provide new firmware to us.
 
flash is useless on zt180. doesnt play smooth enough to watch. ics 4 will not work on zt180 check ur model #. u must have a z102 or zt280 for ics to work. z102 is different hardware than zt180-102. if ur looking for a good stable rom try smaxtors custom roms. he has 3 different levels of rom. full, basic and lite
 
Hi, once asking the question I got no answer. So ..
I have the ZT-180 stucky on ANDROID. But that's not the real problem. The problem is that the front round button is not responding. Any idea how I can get into flash mode.
